I watched the chunnin exams for the first time yesterday and now I am even more convinced that he has a powerful lightning style. Here's why.
1. His nickname is Bolt
2. Lightning came out of his eye when he teleported Nue
3. His lightning is blue and everyone else's is yellow except for Sasuke's
4. When he clashed with Shinki he held him back with his own chakra for longer than expected which shows that it may be more powerful than everyone thinks.
It sorta reminds me of when Sasuke was using tailed beast chakra and it appeared as lightning. I think Boruto may have a similar affinity. It may have something to do with the chakra tree. I think it bring this power out of him just like Sasuke but new gen because Sasuke never displayed that form until he used tailed beast chakra and Boruto only showed that lightning chakra when he was resonating with Nue who was created from the gedo mazo.
