Chapter 11: One Down: Fall of Yawata no Kami
Several months have passed since Kagami's defection from Konoha. Tobirama, has placed many Anbu reserves on locating Kagami, but they've had no such luck in even remotely tracking him down. The assistance by the Uchiha organization has hindered their search and as the time has passed, Kagami has had time to recover and train his new eyes...
In a cave, underneath a waterfall candles illuminate the way through the cave. At the end of the narrow passage through the cave, it opens up into a wide, dark room of stone. Kagami sits in the middle of the floor in a meditative position. The white aura of Yawata no Kami surrounds him, only, what surrounds him is a large entity of white chakra. The shadow of the large entity can be seen covering over Kagami's shadow and it bares the shape of a large being. Kagami sits meditating, remembering his conversation with the Uchiha overlords...
**Flashback**
? “We have set a place for you to train and develop your powers, it is a secluded area with a genjutsu block on it, to confuse all those who try to come within the perimeter, only those with the Sharingan are capable of entering and seeing through the genjutsu”
?? “Once you master your eyes, you shall return to Konoha and you will lead our rebellion by slaying Tobirama Senju”
??? “This is your destiny Kagami”
???? “This is the will...of our leaders Madara and Izuna...the will that lives inside of you. The Uchihas shall take their throne on the pedestal known as Konoha, and we will gain vengeance for their deaths and crush the Senju, our rivalry shall end, with us...prevailing”
**End Flashback**
Kagami “*This power that courses through me...my bloodline...I will surpass Izuna-sama*”
Kagami suddenly opens his eyes and releases his jutsu. A hooded figure stands between two trees, looking forward and up at the waterfall. He begins to walk towards the huge cliff where the waterfall is and climbs the hill. Before he enters the candles that burn, lighting the way into the cave, go out in a gust of wind and the cave is pitch black. The hooded figure passes through the waterfall and begins walking calmly through the dark cave. He puts his right hand on the handle of his blade and begins pulling it out of the shethe slowly. He swings it down to his side and suddenly Kagami leaps down from the roof of the cave at an amazing speed, with a sword of lightning and swings his blade down to the hooded figure. He stops a mere inch from the head of the shinobi, as it is revealed a blade is between Kagami's arm and the head of the figure, causing Kagami to stop short of his attack. Another hooded figure is seen on the left side of the other, and two more surround Kagami, one in the back and on the side, all three with katana held close to Kagami. Kagami's Sharingan is active and his face bares a neutral expression on hit.
Kagami “Who are you?”
??? “Why do you not assume I'm an Uchiha like yourself...How else would I have made it here?”
Kagami “You're foul chakra could never fool me into thinking you were an Uchiha...with that fact said, how the hell did you get in here?!”
??? “Uchihas aren't the only one with Sharingan you know”
Kagami “How is that possible?”
??? “Well...only Uchihas have the bloodline to activate the Sharingan of their own accords but...well once their dead, there is no reason to let good eyes go to waste now is there?”
Kagami's eyes widen with rage as the shinobi says that and he increases the electrical charge on his lightining enhance kunai and electrocutes the entire area around him. The four shinobi around him disappear in a cloud of smoke and the real figure walks up behind Kagami. Kagami turns to swing his blade at the shinobi, however before he turns all the way around the shinobi appears behind him with his blade to his neck. Kagami's eyes widen in shock this time.
Kagami “*What?!...how come I couldn't see his movements?!...He's fast...but even still I should have...*”
??? “I guess my hypothesis was correct, not even the Mangekyou Sharingan of a true blooded Uchiha predict my movements...I guess this means I win”
Kagami “Who the hell are you?!”
??? “I'm called Love, although we used to be comrades, I was...fairly older then you and we had different...positions so to speak...we still do, but I doubt that your little organization told you about me (sighs) how they underestimate me”
Kagami “You...you stole the eyes of my clansmen...I'll kill you, you piece of shit!!”
Love “(laughs) How can you, I mean, I didn't move at full speed, and yet you couldn't see my movements. I've canceled out the perceptional ability of the Sharingan...you're eyes can't track me and...you're not fast enough to keep up with me”
Kagami “You talk about those who underestimate you, don't underestimate my powers”
Love “Oh I know full well of you're powers...regardless I'm not here to fight you, I heard that Setsuna was executed. You guys really do play dirty...framing your own clansmen to take a fall”
Kagami “What?!”
Love “Oh yeah I forgot, they told you some other bull in order to get you to go along with their plan”
Kagami “SHUT YOUR LYING ASS MOUTH”
A clone of Kagami appears behind Love and lunches at him. He ducks and cuts the head off the clone and it ignites into flames. The real Kagami kicks back, but Love blocks it with his blade. Kagami pushes back gaining distance from Love and he begins to make seals. Kagami is barley able to make one seal before Love kneels under him with his blade tip at Kagami's neck.
Love “Relax, getting angry isn't going to help you, although that's all your clan does, is get angry and search for vengeance, that's why they'll never obtain their goals of domination...Before you interrupted me, I was saying I heard of Setsuna's execution, I was originally going to test my hypothesis on him, even if I did loose a few eyes fighting him, in the end I could have taken his, I mean they would be worth two or three ordinary Sharingan. However that plan went down the toilet. I'm not here to fight you because you're eyes aren't as tamed as his, it would take too long for me to do it myself and I just don't have the patience anymore. I just wanted to make sure that I was correct and I am. This is more then I need.”
Kagami “I have no idea of that the **** you're talking about”
Love “And that means if the Uchihas are relying on an idiot child like you to lead them to victory, they'll never prevail”
Kagami “You son of a~”
Love appears at the end of the cave and Kagami turns fast and looks.
Love “Please don't keep this a secret from you're leaders, I want them to know about this...you and another threaten Konoha...you're on my hit list but for now I'll let you about your business. You have no idea that you're setting me up with a great hand to work with here. I have another engagement that I need to attend to, I'll show myself again after that's all over. Consider this a break, I want more of a challenge next time I see you so I'm giving this time for you to train so you could give me that chance...honestly your brother was much stronger then you, I wish it were him instead of you (sigh) well what are you going to do?”
Love heads through the waterfall and Kagami heads to the end of the cave and sees no sight of the shinobi. Kagami's fists clinch in overwhelming anger, and frustration towards the incident that just happened. Love is already outside the perimeter and he takes off his hood, and places his sword back in it's sheathe. Love has a taunting grin on his face as he walks.
Love “*They have no idea of how perfect this is working out. Regardless of who dies first, it'll benefit me in the long run. It's a win, win...Tobirama...I have you in check now...how do you see yourself getting out of this?*”
Love continues walking away with his grin on his face.
1 Month Passes At Konoha
Currently at this time in Konoha, the first ever International Chuunin Exams are being held. The Chuunin Exams, a test where genin from all different nations assemble to be tested on the criteria needed to become chuunin, and recognized as such by their village, and all other villages. These exams are used to promote international friendship between the Great Nations...despite this attempt however, the turn out for this new exam method has been relatively small. The members of the Five Great Nations appear, however the lesser nations have refused to meddle in the affairs of Great Nations, in the slightest. Hostilities rise between Iwa and Suna and even Konoha and Suna. Iwagakure's aggression towards Suna has spooked the other nations and ever since the coup de'tat attempt by the Kin Gin brothers, the peace negotiations between Konoha and Kumo have never been resolved. Currently the final rounds of the Chuunin Exams are on the way. 16 genin still remain from the first two tests, out of the original 42 contestants (14 teams total). Konoha leads in members, having 6 remaining contestants, Kirigakure seconds by having 5 contestants remaining, Kumogakure has 3 remaining shinobi, and both Iwagakure and Sunagakure have 1 remaining. In Konoha's battle arena the 16 shinobi stand in rows of four, surrounded by a large crowd of cheering people from all different countries, and at the top the Hokage sits between two guards and the Mizukage, Kiyoshi Yuki arrives as the guest of honor, for having his village reach the finals with the most shinobi remaining (besides Konoha).
Kage “(whispers) Tobirama-sama, the Anbu guards have been placed on all corners of the stadium and outside the stadium, everything is set”
Tobirama “Thank you Kage, that's all”
Just then Kiyoshi walks through the entrance onto the top of the stadium where Tobirama is. The crowd cheers loudly as the Kage walks up the steps.
Kiyoshi “Tobirama-sama, it's good to see you after such a long time”
Tobirama “As it is good to see you well Kiyoshi-sama”
The two shake hands and they sit besides each other, with both their guards beside them. At the bottom of the arena, where the genin stand, Miyagi walks out and stands in front of them.
Miyagi “Welcome to Konoha's battle arena, made especially for these exams. I am Miyagi Kotetsu and I will be you're third round proctor for the exams. Before I reveal the roster for our match ups I will explain the rules of the final exams to you...First things first this test is tournament style, one-on-one match ups, where you will all be set against each other in individual battles. The winners will advance to the next round, while the losers are eliminated from the tournament. There is 16 of you remaining so there will be four rounds: the elimination round, the quarter finals, semi finals, and final rounds.”
Haruna “So does that mean that only one of us is going to become chuunin? If all the losers are eliminated and there will only be one left, won't that mean that person is the only winner?”
Miyagi “Not exactly. In this final test is a tournament style for two reasons. Reason one is for your skills in combat to be judged by our esteemed board of judges, all proctors from the previous exams, both the Hokage and the Mizukage, and the Daimyou guests here. They are all in the stands to watch your performances and to determine if your skills are worthy enough to become chuunin. Even if you loose your fights, if the judges have decided that you've shown admirable qualities, deserving of becoming chuunin, you shall be promoted, and the same goes that if you win the entire tournament you may not be recommended to become a chuunin. Remember being a shinobi isn't all about skill, but attitude as well, so take that into account”
Cho “What's the second reason?”
Miyagi “Well, the second reason is to put on a show. We're here to promote friendship between nations. To do so, we would enjoy having our guests be entertained. Not only is this for the entertainment of the guests and your evaluation, but the person who wins this tournament will receive 1,000,000ryo for their village, which comes from the funds of all participating shinobi villages”
Note: ryo given the exchange rate of 10yen-1ryo meaning 1,000,000 is around 130,000 in U.S dollars.
Smaller Note: I'm in the U.S so I only did the conversion for my own money. I had to find out the exchange for my own dollar to yen, and since I didn't have a calculator I had to do this in my head but it sounds about right, correct me if I'm wrong.
The genin begin whispering to their peers (except Iwa and Suna because they're the only ones left in their village HA!)
Miyagi “Now here are the rules, any technique in your arsenal is fair game. You're goal is to defeat your opponent by making them unable to continue on the battle. Either the your opponent submits to defeat or I intervene, should the battle begin to get out of hand. We will try to prevent any deaths in this test...now without further ado lets reveal the match ups for today's tournament”
Miyagi turns around and points his arm. A large screen appears from underneath the ground behind the genin. They all turn around and see the roster pairings.

The two contestants from the first division stay on the battle field while the others go to their respective corners in the stands. The board drops and Miyagi stands in between the two shinobi.
Miyagi “Alright you two, there is no time limit, but don't make things too long, and both of you try to put up a good fight, remember this is entertainment as well (smiles). Begin!”
As the battle starts both genin go at it right from the get go. Both Kage watch as the match unfolds.
Kiyoshi “This is a brilliant plan that you have here Tobirama...but are you sure it's going to work?”
Tobirama “What do you mean?”
Kiyoshi “You're trying to distract everybody from the grown troubles in this world we live in, with these exams, are you not?”
Tobirama “I thought it was obvious”
Kiyoshi “You're trying to live up to Hashirama's expectations...aren't you”
Tobirama “No...I'm no longer trying live in his shadow, I'm merely trying to protect what he left behind. Konoha's my responsibility now”
Kiyoshi “You have grown a lot Tobirama”
Tobirama “There has been something that I've been meaning to ask you for a while”
Kiyoshi “You wish to know why I killed Shodaime Raikage, and why I used such unorthodox methods of combating Kumogakure years ago...am I correct?”
Tobirama “Do you know how dangerous that was? Putting your village at risk. You are their leader, what if you had underestimated him, and his troops. You retaliated with a lesser force and then you sent them to retreat, leaving you behind...what was the purpose of that?”
Kiyoshi “Tobirama, have you ever known me to underestimate any of my opponents? I expected you of all people to know that”
Tobirama “The last time we fought, we were only children”
Kiyoshi “And yet, as children we were both severely weaker then we are now...I believe the ratio of our power has remained the same or near now”
Tobirama “I would go to say that you're stronger...and what is your point?”
Kiyoshi “Don't underestimate yourself towards another shinobi...my point was to help you...to return the favor”
Tobirama “Return what favor?”
Kiyoshi “Konoha, Hashirama prevented war between my nation, and that of the others as well by compromise of the Bijuu. I personally held that Kiri's debt to Konoha”
Tobirama “That wasn't just for Kiri, but for the sake of peace, and even so how were you trying to repay us?”
Kiyoshi “Kumo's desire for the Byakugan was no secret to us, or any of the other nations...”
Tobirama's thinks about it for a moment and then his eyes widen. He looks at the unexpressed Mizukage.
Tobirama “You never thought they were coming after you at all did you? You~”
Kiyoshi “Regardless if my forces pushed them back or not, knowing the Shodaime Raikage, he wouldn't stop there. Tobirama, you knew him rather well I believe. I had to draw him out and I had to risk the fight not only for your village but for mine as well. The interference of my village, would've only resulted in Kumo coming after my village as well, and that was more important then my own life”
Tobirama “Always, thinking aren't you...well it was a good enough, we've remained neutral with Kumo, no aggression”
Kiyoshi “I also heard about your near death experience with Kumo's Kin Gin brothers...and about your triumph over them”
Tobirama “Word has gotten around I see...even if we didn't negotiate an alliance we still ended our hostilities.”
Kiyoshi “Tobirama...I know you can sense it...”
Tobirama “What are you talking about?”
Kiyoshi “War”
Tobirama turns his head in silence. His look becomes solemn and he looks down to the two shinobi fighting down in the arena.
Tobirama “From every battle I've ever been in, I've learn something about myself and about my opponent. It is said that when strong shinobi are in the presence of another, they could tell what is truly in their opponent's heart and the need for words to communicate is unnecessary. The shinobi will communicate through their jutsu and if the shinobi are truly at level with their opponent, the rhythm of the battle is like art. The art of combat...the art of martial arts, originally created to promote understanding through the exchange of technique, to learn to honor yourself and you're opponent...Never was this supposed to be for war...This world is so sick with that disease”
Kiyoshi “You're right, when I fought against you I learned many things about myself and about the world...we were forced to fight good people, people who stood for what they believed in but were still bound to the holds of their clan. Even though I wasn't born into my clan, the Yuki clan is my family and I would just as well die before I let anybody in that clan be harmed...however because I loved my clan I fought, and I fought and killed many people who I regret and I've harmed a great deal of others. Everything you said is the truth...however just because it wasn't meant for war doesn't mean it won't end up being used for that very purpose.”
Tobirama “I hope that, these exams do indeed calm the rising tensions between the Great Nations”
Kiyoshi “As do I...”
The two Kage finish their conversation. At the bottom of the arena Haruna Aburame stands, with her hands in her pockets and nonchalantly over her opponent. The shinobi is on the ground, blanketed by hundreds of small black beetles. The crowd cheers as Miyagi declares her the winner. She scatters her insects and calls them back into her sleeve and she walks away. The Kumo genin lay on the ground, unconscious and panting heavily from almost being suffocated under the insects and having them suck out his chakra on top of that. Miyagi calls the first competitors from division b to the arena and begins the battle.
Kiyoshi “Tobirama...there is something that I want to give you before I depart from your village today, when there is a free moment I shall wish to speak with you in privet”
Tobirama “...alright then...”
Tobirama responds, confused and curiously as to what the Mizukage would want give to him.
2 Hours Pass
As the elimination round ends, intermission is called, allowing everybody to stretch their legs, remaining participants would get the medical attention they needed to refuel and the two Kage slip away unnoticed. After half an hour they return and the battles begin again.Tournament Board

The next round in Division A begins and the two shinobi go at it...
Outside Konoha
Love walks through the forests behind Konoha with the same robe on he had when he faced Kagami. He passes through a passage lined by many trees and suddenly he's attacked by masked shinobi, leaping down from the trees. Above. He takes out is blade and moves in he moves, however it is as if he blurs, in the position he's in. When he comes to a stop the shinobi fall to the ground at his feet, gushing out blood from their bodies. Although it had appeared that Love had barley moved, his blade was spattered in blood. He whips the blood off his blade and puts it back in its sheathe. He continues walking...Underground from his position, Danzo's Root organization lay. Danzo sits in a chair, with his robe on looking down at his shinobi underlings. He hosts his own Root Chuunin exams, however without the restraint.
Root Soldier “Danzo-sama~”
Danzo “What do you want I'm busy?”
Root Soldier “The defense squad on the north side hasn't reported back yet”
Danzo “Then go find out why”
Love “No need to”
The masked shinobi and Danzo turn to see Love in the entrance to the room with two dead shinobi in his hands. He drops them to the ground and all the Anbu guards in the room surround Love, blades at the vital organs of his body ready to strike him.
Danzo “What is the meaning of this Love?!”
Love “You're planning a coup”
Danzo “What?!”
Love “Don't act like an idiot, you know exactly what I'm saying is true”
The two young shinobi at the bottom of the battle arena stop their battle and look up to see all the comotion.
Danzo “Nobody told you to stop, continue!”
They obey and Love glares down at them and in an instant, Love is out of the barrier of Anbu and down between both kids. In a fluent movement he cuts off both of their heads, and they fall to the ground. Danzo's eyes widen with anger.
Danzo “KILL HIM!”
All the shinobi leap down to attack him and Love smiles. Before they reach him his body dissapars in a cloud of smoke, revealing it to be a shadow clone. Danzo and the others then here the yells and cries of his other shinobi henchmen outside. Danzo quickly runs out and sees several of his men cut down. None of them however were spared any mercy. The sight was horrible, severed limbs, decapitated heads, organs, and several blade wounds on the bodies. The hall was a complete pool of blood and body parts everywhere. Love had slain Danzo's men in the most brutal way possible, quick and painful.
Root Soldier “Danzo-sama, he's on the first level, and he's I'm loosing the chakra signatures in several of our men”
Danzo's face fills with rage as he runs in Love's direction. Danzo gets to the first level and sees countless more of his dead men. He heads out and in the same narrow path way as before, Love sits, with his sword in is lap.
Danzo “You bastard!”
Love “You've lost your way Danzo...you fight for yourself not for Konoha”
Danzo “I'm strong enough to be Hokage now...Konoha is steadily spiraling into war yet Tobirama has taken now actions to prepare Konoha or take the offensive. At this rate Suna, even Iwa would begin to make its move on us and we'd have no proper preparations made. Instead he invites all villages to Konoha, like it's an open buffet to hold some meaningless exams, believing that he can bring peace. He is going to be the downfall of our village”
Love “So you're resolve to protect Konoha is to kill him and to send this nation into an uproar with your seizing of power to become Hokage. You've become so arrogant that you think that you're the only shinobi who can take his place as Hokage”
Danzo “Don't act so high and mighty, you are no better then m~”
Love looks at Danzo with an intense anger in his eye as he makes his statement. Before Danzo can even finish his statement Love appears behind him with his blade. He swings and Danzo lifts his right arm up and blocks the blade with his arm.
Love “Don't you ever compare yourself to me you little rat. I've always fought for the best interest in Konoha. I would gladly take down any threat to the seat of the Hokage or the village. You're actions would do no more then start civil war and open us up to invasion of all these other countries. You're still a young fool”
Danzo “Take down any threat? You mean take down your competition”
Danzo kicks back and Love ducks with ease, however Danzo's left arm seems to extend down and grabs him on the neck and whips Love away from him. Love flips and rebounds and then activates his Sharingan.
Danzo “I'm no longer going to kneel to you like a dog. I'm going to kill you and get you out of my way once and for all”
Love “Don't let you're arrogance get the better of you, Danzo”
Danzo takes off his robe and Love's eyes widen. Love then gets a smug look on his face and smiles.
Love “Wow, who knew you'd go through such lengths...I never thought you'd use that jutsu on yourself”
Danzo's entire upper body was crossed with stitching's. His arms, back, neck, even his mouth is revealed to be stitched as he takes off his bandages. Danzo's appearance was that of a rag doll. On his back four masks lay attached to him

Danzo “I know more about you then you might think Love...even that unique eye of yours...and it's power”
Love “Is that so...well then...this should be an admirable test of my skills.”
Love takes off his robe and he's in full Anbu style battle gear. His forehead and his arms are covered in bandages.
