Guys I think I am able to pick up something. We know that his manifestation of the byakugan somehow connected to the 'dark chakra' where it basically sees into and interacts with other dimensions, or things not on the normal plane of existence. This mean the Hyuuga side allows Boruto to see extra-terrestrials like how in the manga he was able to see and interact Momoshiki in that stopped time dimension.
People got the misconception that Boruto summoned Nue creature based on his "outsourced" power. Let's gather everything we know so far:
We first see Denki getting bitten by the snake tail of the weird creature
Then we see this symbol
So here is the catch, this snake absorbs chakra from the person who got bitten by it and it store the chakra in this weird symbol, we know this because each time it bites someone it absorb chakra and a number teeth of chakra is being added equal to the amount of chakra that the person have.
So the symbol already had 3 chakra teeth and Denki had enough for 1 more tooth of chakra, we also have seen that after it has bitten metal lee in episode 3, another 2 teeth have been added and we can see it in the 4th episode to make it a total of 6 teeth out of 16(4 each side). So clearly this creature tries to fill the symbol to make something happen.
When Boruto tried to summon; he somehow used all of the chakra teeth and summoned that weird snake/tail of the creature, it was able to function because of his special eye. If you pay attention to the eye marked in the middle of the summoning seal, it looked complete similar to Boruto dojutsu.
There Boruto was only able to summon part of the chimera counterpart with the amount of chakra teeth he had on his disposal and summoned into the World of the Living which is why everyone else can only see the snake yet Boruto can see the full image of Nue.
What is even more interesting is when Boruto activated the dark chakra/chakra teeth that the symbol had different pattern compared to the 'symbol in the first/six episode. Here is a comparison:
Now look closely, you can see that the one that appeared in the first episode had two eyes that look like the creature’s eyes while the one that Boruto took the chakra from had one big eye, so this eye might be Boruto's eye and might not so we can only confirm this in future episodes. and also in the 6th episode, we also can see that Shino had enough for another 5 teeth of chakra.
Another interesting thing to look at is that they might have taken similar concept from the fillers. In the filler, Hizashi (Neji father) posses similar technique as using summoning seal but instead he used 8-trigram grid palm which allows to create a network of grids that inflicts pain on the victim.
Hizashi also used his vortex power to the extent of his power and able to warp another dimension with his byakugan.
