genetics aren't that simple. each recessive and dominant trait of the byakugan can be as little as the shade of color, or the roundness of the eye. for instance, there isn't just one shade of skin, and certain patches of skin can be slightly brighter or darker, or you may have ears shaped similar to both of your parents, but not the same as either. there may be a bunch of genes together that when displayed as dominant enough in a person, results in the phenomena known as byakuan.
