(Enjoy Chapter One! One side note I want all non-Japanese speakers (like myself) to know. Most names I make up are puns in Japanese. You should look up their meaning to further see the meaning of the fanfic. This series will feature fanfic artists who have decided to collaborate with me! This chapter features the talents of Hebi Yamata! Note: Most chapters will be written in my style, but ones like this will be written in the featured writer’s style. Play:
In a dark, swampy bog three grass ninja chase down an unknown foe. One begins to shout.
?: Get him!
?: Almost got him!
?: Here he comes!
Foe: Hehe. Water Style: Water Wall.
The ninjas collide with the column of water, except for the leader who leaps ahead.
Leader: Gotcha!
The foe leaps out of the way, but the leader uses the Fireball Jutsu. The foe flips backward, dodging the fireball. All grass ninjas throw explosive kunais, which the enemy dodges. The leader sprints to the enemy and engages in a fistfight until the foe is kicked the ground. Finally, the leader spews oil from his mouth all around him.
Team Member: All right, Ki!
They throw many kunais at the man, which he dodges, but they explode and ignite the oil, causing the man to get burned. Ki ties him up with rope and carries him to an old shack on the swamp. {End music} A team member ignites an old candle with wax as old as time. The illumination reveals a ruined room that was stained with blood and had numerous bills from various Land of Grass businesses.
Foe: Why’d you bring me to my home? What do you want?
Ki: My mother back. I know that you’re the one who can help.
Foe: Listen, kid.
Team Member: Do not talk to the Feudal Lord of the Land of Grass like that! That is treason!
Foe: Who cares about treason? What has he done for me, other than attack me in my own swamp and flood my mail with his damn taxes? His father was the one of the dark times.
Ki: Please don’t speak of my father. He made…so many mistakes. My guardian said that he used to be a decent man before-
Foe: A decent man? Uchiha Hikusa, the bringer of darkness? The most corruptible, vile, and bloodthirsty man ever to rule this land? Never!
Ki: Well, as feudal lord, I-
Foe: You don’t even deserve that title! Your father got it from murder!
Ki: Well, you Yakushi Kabuto, influenced him into doing all of that twenty years ago! He became insane! He killed my grandmother, Shinda, and my mother, Ama! Ever since, I’ve lived with his maid who raised me. I want my mother back, and I know you know how to do it!
Kabuto: Never.
Ki: It’s the least you could do!
Kabuto: I swore to never get involved with other ninjas again ever since we lost the war.
Ki: Yes after you lost the fourth war, you did go into hiding here. It took us a long time to find you, but it was worth it. You know how to bring the dead to life!
Kabuto: I only lost because Madara tried to-
Ki: Listen to me1 I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about resurrections.
Kabuto: Look, isn’t it a little corrupt that an official would let someone break the law for his problems? Ever since the war, the ninja system has shriveled to a private, government-owned business. Isn’t it illegal to use jutsu without a government purpose?
Ki: I am feudal lord of the Grass, I will let that slide.
Kabuto: Well, the Edo Tensei requires your mother’s DNA. Didn’t her corpse burn in the Amaterasu? It’s impossible then.
Ki: But you’ve dealt with the supernatural, haven’t you?
Kabuto: Do you swear not to tell anyone?
Ki: I, Uchiha Kidou, swear not to say anything.
Kabuto: Good.
Kabuto’s snakes ripped off the ropes constricting him. A snake slithering quickly around Kabuto as he chanted something under his breath.
Kabuto: Way of Binding Number 100: Reiatsu Seeking.
A green light emitted from his snake as it spun more quickly around him.
Ki: What are you doing?
Kabuto: Kido, demon magic. It can find your loved ones’ reiatsu, or spirit force.
Kidou’s eyes widened.
Ki: Spirit force?
Several minutes passed as Kabuto sat, and his glowing snake revolved around him.
Kabuto: Your grandmother is nowhere to be found. She must have gone to Soul Society.
Ki: Where’s that?
Kabuto: However, your mother’s spirit still roams the world of the living…
Ki: Really?
Kabuto: As a Hollow, or bad spirit.
