Chapter 3- The Grim Grip
The battle has begun!
Akira unsheathed his Zanpakuto, and flash stepped in between Jaken and Noor, parrying strikes coming at him from both sides, while still finding time in between to counter. Bishamon lay on the ground semi-conscious in a food-induced coma.
Bishamon: Hey, guys. *referring to the dozens of other shinigami also laying on the ground*
Bishamon: You should all probably get out of here with the food. Bring it back to the others. I can tell this battle's going to get intense... more intense than it already is.
The shinigami obeyed his orders, hurrying back to the automobiles.
Akira flash stepped behind Jaken just as Noor was in mid-strike, throwing him off balance, and faked an attack at Jaken. Jaken swerved around, planning to parry, and Akira flash stepped behind Noor, who was still regaining his footing. Akira slashed Noor from behind across his midsection, leaving a rather deep, bleeding wound. Noor fell to the ground without a noise.
Akira: One down, one to go.
Bishamon: *clap clap clap*
Jaken: My my.
Akira: Your friend didn't put up much of a fight. I'm surprised at how easily he fell, actually.
Noor: You should be.
Noor appeared behind Akira, his wound completely closed, and sliced down at Akira's shoulder. Akira brought his sword up just in time to block, and flash stepped out of range.
Akira: What?! You were dead. I felt it: your raitsu was gone.
Noor: You're right, I was dead. But I healed myself. You see, I've got a special ability that's constantly active: it's called Los Impuestos de la Sanguijuela. Whenever I'm touched by another person's Zanpakuto, I absorb some of the raitsu of that person, and use it to heal myself from the wound inflicted. If the wound isn't fatal, I actually gain raitsu and strength by being hit. The stronger my opponent is, the stronger I become. However, I have no Resurreccion ability as a drawback.
Bishamon: Now that's a cool ability.
Jaken: I know, right?
Akira: Who are you?
Noor: I've already told you: I am Noor. The 8th Espada.
Akira: *Thinks: If this guy's only the 8th, how strong is the 7th... This Noor person is unkillable. The Espada have gotten much stronger...
Bishamon: What're you waiting for, Akira?? Spill their guts out!! *burp*
Noor: Yes, please do. Then my power shall grow.
Akira: Urrgggh!!
Akira charged at both of them in fury. He focussed his attacks on Jaken, driving him back. He struck downwards at the blade of Jaken's scythe, pinning the scythe to the ground. Akira stabbed his sword into the ground, holding the scythe in place, and kicked Jaken in the face. Jaken took the kick without flinching, and pointed his finger out at Akira, charging a Cero. Noor also pointed out a finger from the other side, and charged a cero. Akira quickly grabbed his sword and flash stepped behind Jaken, grabbing his arm and forcing it upwards just as Noor's cero left his finger, leaving Jaken exposed to the cero. Jaken chuckled.
Jaken was hit with the cero full blast, and after the smoke cleared, the first thing Akira saw was that he was still holding on to Jaken's arm.
Jaken: Cambia Todo, Consumidor.
Jaken released his resurreccion, causing his eyes to melt away, his flesh to peel inwards and away, and his height to double. He stood crooked over, and his bony hand closed on Akira's wrist. He was a skeleton. His scythe, however, remained the same as before.
Something like a gray mist began to form between Akira's face and Jaken's skull, and all of the strength immediately left Akira.
Jaken: It was foolish to grab hold of me. Now my face will be the last thing you see. Slowly, I will consume your very soul: your very essence. This, unlike raitsu, does not return so easily.
Akira's Zanpakuto began to crumble away into dust.
Bishamon: Hado 88: Hiryugekizokushintenraiho (Flying Dragon-Striking Heaven-Shaking Thunder Cannon)
A gigantic blue blast of electrical raitsu shoots out of Bishamon's hands, colliding head-on with Jaken from his left side, forcing him to release his grip from Akira, and sending him flying off to the side.
Bishamon: I'm finished digesting.
Jaken stood up, his bones chipped away and his cloak completely gone. He walked up to Noor's side.
Jaken: *panting* Damn you both.
Suddenly, Jaken and Noor are surrounded by two large Negacions.
Bishamon: Damnit, Negacion is so cheap. -.-
Jaken: I meant to kill you both. But once I start transferring a soul into myself, I must finish the process or else I lose part of my soul. I suffer the same fate as my victims. Look at your friend over there. His wound and my wound will take equal amounts of time to heal. Until then, our souls are interconnected. We shall meet again, mark my words.
Noor: *waves bye*
Akira lay on the ground, his face extremely pale, shivering.
Bishamon: That wasn't your fault, Akira. There was no way to know that that would happen if you grabbed him. It was my fault for putting you in a 2v1 against enemies we've known nothing about for hundreds of years. Can you hear me, Akira?
Akira was simply shivering on the ground.
Bishamon: Damnit, Akira...
