He did get the chair destroyed, but if that's just an illusion too... man, I missed Aizen.
Aizen put him under hypnosis in chapter 513. That's the loop hole Kubo wrote into this. Under hypnosis before he got the almighty, hence Aizen can alter Yhwach's perception of reality.
ohh yeah, how lame. I guess that means Aizen can manipulate everything his power sees.
Kubo isn't doing anything that isn't inside the laws of the Bleach Universe. Either you touch his sword, don't get cut by it, or avoid the hypnosis when he draws it. Aizen might be fused with his sword now, but there is a way around his ability.
