Bleach 484: Why Ichigo's Bankai wasn't stopped

So we all saw how ichigo didn't loose his bankai / shinigami powers from the evil guy with a mask. remember how ichigo lost his powers from using the "final Getsuga Tenshō" and his zanpakto "spirit" died? (maybe? i can't remember how that part happened, but he lost his powers one way or another...) :shrug:

so if his zanpakto spirit did die from the final getsuga tensho, then that is what makes his powers different and possibly un-steal/seal-able...

what do u guys think?

i dnt think zangetsu is dead, and it could possibly be because he is also human or possibly have something to do with his hollow half ... if he still has it :/ there have been alot of things hes been able to do whiles other shinigami havent so im not really surprised that this happened lol

Don't really see how he couldn't still have the Inner Hollow.....If you think about it his shit is all the same as it was before, just slightly modified. I see Zangetsu being a major player in the events to come, same with Isshin and Urahara(and their Zanpakuto), as well as Yoruichi.

When Ichigo used his FGT and lost his powers they weren't completely erased. They were forced into an inactive and dormant state. Urahara's white sword was created to jolt Ichigo's Shinigami powers awake again. It was filled with the reiatsu of all the Captains and Lieutenants of the Gotei 13 - this is a LOT of reiatsu. It's synonymous with jump starting a car with another battery. You delivery a sudden jolt of energy and you shock it awake.

It's even implied that Isshin once achieved FGT:

Yet, he still has his Engetsu. This means he had the same zanpaktou before and after FGT. It shouldn't be any different with Ichigo

hmmm interesting... but i thought zangetsu and ichigo "merged" for FGT and when it was over, his powered disappeared, meaning zangetsu with them... Which is why zangetsu was so against the FGT, since he would disappear/die taking the shinigami powers with him...

if zangetsu was just made dormant, than why haven't we seen him yet in ichigo's inner world with skyscrapers???

i agree with the above, but that doesn't mean that the "personification" of the zanpaktou wasn't affected by the FGT. my point was that by having gone through the whole FGT ordeal (meeting his zanpaktou, beating it, merging with it (as in it is no longer separate from ichigo, remember how ichigo had black hair and bandages like his zanpaktou spirit???)), it cannot be separated from ichigo, like others can (as implied by the evil bad guy with the mask fighting ichigo... bad with names, sry)

i guess my point is that either the "spirit" died from FGT, or merged with ichigo and is now no longer a separate consciousness, meaning that ichigo's zanpaktou powers were not affected for that reason. since separate "spirit" is no longer separate from ichigo, would have to remove ichigo from himself, which the power of new evil peeps can't do...

Zangetsu is definitely not dead, like NLee pointed out, zanpakuto are a part of a Shinigami's spirit/soul.

A reason why Ichigo's bankai wasn't stopped? Easy.. he's easily got the most reiatsu and dormant powers out of all the shinigami pointed out by Unohana before Ichigo returned from Hueco Mundo to fight Aizen.

So it was simply too powerful for Ivan to properly handle.

i think the reason why ichigo's bankai wasn't stopped is because unlike most, ichigo's release is diffrent. most zanpakuto's bankai release revolve around, a massive creature or item. while ichigo's is where all his power is forced in to a small size.

That doesn't mean his Bankai is different from everyone else. Each zanpaktou's Bankai is suppose to be unique to each Shinigami

Technically Getsuga Tensho is only releasing condensed reiatsu from the tip of the blade so really anyone can do it.

But I agree. I don't think Zangetsu can die as long as Ichigo's soul is still intact. However, I have no idea what happened to Zangetsu. You'd expect Ichigo to go check up on the (old) man... At least that's what I would've done :shrug:

so i guess there is a consensus that Zangetsu is NOT dead. Then where is he? "Dormant"? Or did he "merge" with Ichigo making them "one" entity / reality??? (remember what ichigo looked like after transforming for FGT?)

incase you forgot ichigo can also use the hollows powers to shikai and bankai as seen in the zanpokto arc, he doesnt need zangetsu for his powers
