I really think that they need to show more about Ishinn's past we don't know much about him. And also Kubo has a really annoying habit of putting pointless talking and arguing In the chapters that doesn't need to be there, it's like he's trying to fill space

I want to know more about his past too, but not in the middle of a battle.

Also once a thread was made with an interview with Kubo where he said that Isshin would play an important role in the next arc after the current one. Though it wasn't sure if it was a confirmed interview, but this was likely the case.
