Okay, but what does that have to do with the post? Did you read it? If so, what are your thoughts on BLM?I'm black and I'm proud![]()
Post said:University of Toledo criminologist Dr. Richard R. Johnson examined the latest crime data from the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Reports and Centers for Disease Control and found that an average of 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2012. Professor Johnson’s research further concluded that 112 black men died from both justified and unjustified police-involved killings annually during this same period.
But he's not talking about the racial problems black people face in the Country, but the fact that the movement itself doesn't call out that more black men are killed by black men, rather than police officers. This is bullshit, he doesn't write the laws of humanity and say exactly what's gonna happen, he' not God. We're in this postion because of slavery, and we were given one-sided conditions for our freedom from day one, anybody who refuses to accept this is simply naive.
Okay, but what does that have to do with the post? Did you read it? If so, what are your thoughts on BLM?
If you did read it, I actually agree. From what I've seen, the acts of black men and women dying across America only seem to matter when such said deaths are taken by police officers, whom are usually white (or not black). It mainly started with Trayvon Martin.
Even till this day, the BLM movement only is seen supporting the men and women who fall in the hands of white police officers, rather than stating the problem isn't just a radical issue with white people. Although I'm not saying that black's in general don't face adversity in corporate America, or just America in general, I'm going to let these statistics speak for themselves. Especially when 'BLM' mainly deals with the death.
...But a larger problem with the people themselves. The point I'm making is that the whole movement of black lives matter seems be twisted compared to the larger image. If black lives mattered, truly, to these people. Why aren't more of them having these protests among their own people? If black lives mattered so much, why aren't they working their butt off to create programs to help their brothers and sisters off the streets? Do you see what I'm pointing out?
To me, and to the Police Officer, it only seems like black lives matter to the movement itself when black men get killed by white men or police officers in general. But when a black men gets killed by another black men, it's just forgotten, as if it was normal.
But he's not talking about the racial problems black people face in the Country, but the fact that the movement itself doesn't call out that more black men are killed by black men, rather than police officers.
So why isn't the movement trying to sort that out too?
I'm black and I'm proud![]()
Why are you proud of bieng black?
But that's exactly the problem. BLM movement only formed when young black men were getting killed unjustly, making it national news. Although the thousands of other young African Americans who get killed aren't either.Black lives matter to me is a movement formed in response to these unjust shooting of young black individuals by the people who are supposed to protect them. This group i think is formed in response to what people are seeing everyday and grew weary of it. Not numbers on the board. Black people killing other people is the same as whites killing whites and muslims killing muslims. The flawed justice system continues to allow these IMO because they can't control only put systems in place to try to.
So basically you don't have any comment on the problems with the BLM? If you and I want to live a country where black's can be legitimized on every level, shouldn't the first step be towards facing these problems? The BLM is the largest support group for black's in America, and it's targeting only one of the problems blacks face when it comes to adversity. What's the point of fighting for justice when you only half ass it?I actually read it earlier twice but allow me to say it again: I'm Black & I'm Proud and I want to live in a country were blackness can be legitimized on every level. Mostly on the Justice level, which is what I think the BLM should be be about so relax.

Honestly it's the same issue most races/groups face when it comes to not solving the internal problems within themselves. People know these things are happening (ISIS targeting Muslims and brandishing the religion of Islam, but still there isn't a large rally of Muslims speaking out on the behavior either). They should be focusing on the real problem too, I support the BLM movement somewhat, although I can't wrap my head around the fact that there isn't any larger support for the brothers and sisters dying left and right everyday.

What? This has nothing to do with 'what I'm saying' but with what the program 'Black Lives Matters' is saying. The entire program, as repeated word by word, is for Black Lives. The entire project is only vocal towards the young men and women getting killed on a national level, but not the men and women being killed day to day through black on black crime. The entirety of the program is facing only a single problem, but not the entire issue. BLM isn't just for a fair justice, but for the importance of black men/women in the Country. You honestly can't do both when you only expect to talk about one half of the problems black people face in America itself.Your honestly not saying anything, there are people in the black communities doing the ground work to stop black on black violence especially in Chicago but it isn't being televised or broadcasted as it should be. Now as far as the rest of comment goes, sure BLM could be vocal about the black on black violence but how does talking about that more make the Justice system more fair to blacks?

That's what I pointed out, and well, the face-book post from the Police Offcer. If we want to change our/their lives for the better, we have to start broadcasting the larger internal problems blacks face, and it mostly has to do with themselves. Just targeting the racial issues gets us halfway there.
And I'm telling you that your point of view is fascicle, your suppose read my response before you reply to it. So I'll repeat myself, could the black community (i.e. BLM) be more vocal about black on black violence? Yes! Is black on black violence getting the coverage it should get? No! Does any of those things make the US justice system is undoubtly racially biased. Whether you want to believe it or not Indra, a man being shot while going for is vehicle information is unacceptable! A healthy woman dying in police custody is unacceptable.
This all is unacceptable!

But yes the black community faces major problems with in our own community Indra but you need to understand that a lot of problems stem directly from law enforcement more so; government affairs so to say that black people shouldn't be as vocal about flawed justice system and more vocal about black on black violence is bonkers. Fixing the problems within our own community isn't gonna work with an independent effort (black community by itself; it's gonna take the involvement of police and the justice system to help; which is why we need to fix it now.
