I had heard about it quite a while ago but I started reading it recently only- beginning of this month.

He should survives- otherwise the writer probably won't keep him alive till now. I liked him so it will be nice if he is in for the long haul. But rest of the chapter was a bit "eh " for me. A little rushed. New character being good may make up for it but at the moment I want the writer to take a few extra panels to build up the story.
