It's not so much that the sword is moving, it gets attracted by magic sources and no matter how powerful the engine, it still needs oil to keep running. If Asta can't supply anti-magic anymore or he can't maintain it, well he's going to slow down.

That's because, most rivals are not so friendly to the lead. Sometimes I think Yuno is not as much interested in becoming the WE personally, but making sure Asta's road is clear and spurring him on. His presence in top ranks has helped Asta.
