I think Yami already thought William is Licht and he is behind it as soon as he heard the predicament happening in Royal Palace judging from his reaction. So far, it looked to me like Tabata is developing the battle between Yami Vs Licht(Darkness Vs Light). Remember, Tabata first introduced Licht to Yami and they fought for the first time in the manga.

And yeah... there is a 50-50 chances that Julius may survives or not!. Personally, I think he might go into Coma or something. And till then someone acts as Emperor for the time being. Or he may totally die and at the verge of death(as he is now) may entrusts Yami to everything.

And the pacing in this manga is so fast. It is making me remember about a particular manga!.

I doubt he's dead. This just seems a plot device to have him temporary removed from the main story so that other characters can deal with the situation.

He could simply be happy that he saved everyone, but I have a hard time believing he just so happened to have roughly the exact amount of magic required to save the village(oops) capital and no more or will die within 4 seconds from a stab before using magic.
