All right. So, lightning is a very unique element.
Tell me, what is lightning? (Metaphorically)

Lighting can also combine power with water

I meant, something like... Lightning is pure aggression in jutsu form. Lightning is nature's way of saying "I'M PISSED OFF, SO I'M GOING TO BLOW THINGS UP!!!!"

On to the specifics, lightning the fastest of the elements, and if it's ever used to defend, it's simultaneously used as an attack. Lightning jutsus attack generally linearly, and are meant to cause the most damage to their target as possible as quickly as possible.

So, let's start with you trying to make some lightning chakra, shall we?

You're going to want to use a large amount of chakra, and envision your chakra as "flashing" in and out of existence in large bursts. When you start to properly form the lightning chakra, there should be sparks around you from time to time.

(Raiton: Raikou Oonami) - Lightning Release: Lightning Surge
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user will concentrate their chakra and slam their hand on the ground to release a surge of lightning across the ground to the opponents feet to shock them

*I slam my hand on the ground and I release a giant surge of lightning over the ground*

First, concentrate pure lightning chakra in your palm, and then slam in on the ground, release it in a forward arc. The lightning bolts should shoot out towards your target.

Nice job! This jutsu is useful if your opponent is standing on water (but if you aren't standing on it as well). You can also use this jutsu within Taijutsu to punch your opponent in the face with a "Lightning Punch".

Raiton: Sandaa Saaburu (Lightning Style: Thunder Saber)

Damage Points: 20
Description: Hits opponent with an electric field shield that explodes and can blow back the enemy.

This jutsu requires you to focus lightning chakra throughout the air in front of you. Then, you shoot it forward at your opponent, and hit them with what is essentially air mixed with lightning chakra.

Try it.

Well, some lightning jutsus can form in front of you or away from you. As long as you don't physically come in contact with the lightning itself and as long as the lightning jutsu doesn't physically touch the water that you're standing on, you should be fine.

Good job. (I let you learn those jutsus quickly just because I've neglected this training thread for too long. These C-ranks are going to be a bit harder to learn )

Those are really the only useful D-ranks. Let's move on to C-ranks.

(Raiton: Jibashi) - Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30 (+5 if used in conjunction with a water jutsu)
Description: This jutsu allows the user to create a wave of electricity from the user's hands. This jutsu can vary in power from a small surge to shock an opponent to a powerful stream of lightning capable of ripping through solid rock. It is ideal to use in conjunction with a water jutsu.

*I focus lightning chakra in my hands, then shooting it out in the form of a horizontal wave. The jutsu moves forward at a fast rate and cuts through two trees.*

Focus the lightning chakra in your hands (not just in your fingers) and release it forward with an extra burst of chakra in both of your hands at once.

This lightning jutsu is useful because it can be combined with water.

Gather lightning chakra in your hands and materialize a ball of lightning. Then, launch it forward with another burst of lightning chakra.
