Yeah... so that one's pretty self-explanitory.

Fire and water. They're somewhat difficult to use. You could use a low-level water technique followed by a high-level fire one to create a little steam to obscure your opponent's vision just before they're hit with the fire.

Earth and fire:

Some mud jutsus can be combined with fire jutsus to create lava-ish jutsus. Otherwise, you can use fire jutsus to superheat rock and earth to make either a small amount of lava, or to make the rock jutsus untouchable - if you touch the superheated earth jutsus, you'd suffer horrible burns.

@bisha: I would like to add that fire and water can be combined in other forms , one of them can be ..
water orb + a racing fire jutsu ( which can be controlled ) thus when combined the fire will revolve around the water orb, and when a wind jutsu is tried to defend the fire can overcome wind and let water continue to hit the target .

But all the jutsu's and combo's can be stopped one way or another.
