Although he was a egomaniac he is the only one who has come close to killing Sasuke (he tried but failed) and that is a plus in my book.

Plus he isn't as bad as Orochimaru. That guy only thought of himself and nothing more. I mean so did Danzo but at least it was to the benefit of Konoha....in some way.

How are you guys saying Danzo is a douche, in the whole anime he is the only true ninja...He did things behind the scene, like a ninja...he only cared about the village, like a ninja would...and he didn't have feelings and emotions to hold him back...IMO he be the best ninja.
