Biggest disappointment in part 2?

Lee/Neji, Both were bad ass in the chunin exams.

It's like lee hasn't really developed at all in the 3 or so years since the chunin exams.
Same goes for neji really, Yeah he got to jonin rank but again he got nothing new and only to be stuck fighting fodder zetsu's.

So much potential wasted.

Part 1 lee wanted to prove hard work = Born Genius but part two just proves that being born into special clans/born a genius >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Any amount of hard work what so ever.

i know this is based on your opinion but, i disagree on Jiraiya's point.

he didn't go down easily, he took out three of the pains and Nagato knew better than to show him his reviver (would give away his plan), it shows how much Nagato respected his master's skills.

In part 1 the number of characters was much more limited. The fact that they contributed so much during the chuunin exams and some of them later during Sasuke's retrieval should make them secondary characters imo, even if some don't have background (which they should, its not about numbers, its about quality).

@perv: I exaggerated on the easy part xD Its just that i always had a feeling Jiraiya was the strongest of the sannin, because usually the later a character shows his powers the stronger it seems, yet he couldn't put up a fight after all the paths showed up. It wasn't epic enough for Lord Jiraiya. I wasn't disappointed with his worth as a shinobi (he saved the village with his dying breath) but i would've liked to see him putting up a more epic fight.

Because Naruto was in the chunin exams. They themselves weren't really important.. They are Naruto's friends that is pretty much it. Those who are more important to Naruto get more screen time.

Mugiwara are fodders compared to their 3 main fighters..

How the akatsuki were so hyped in part 1 and at the beginning just to be defeated so easily. In part 1, I was hoping to learn more about the other tailed beast holders but he killed them all off without screen time for most of them.

yea exactly. Kishis basically showing us that you either have to be a jinchuuriki, uchiha, senju or have a special KKG to be strong, if not, you're out of luck.

Yea, the war arc had it's ups but was mostly a disappointment.
