Which fictional literature have bigger reader demography?

Just a simple question bcus of curiosity.

I would go with manga.

DBZ,Naruto,One Piece,AoT, One Punch Man and Berserk have huge amount of readers.

For comics its include Marvel, DC, and all comic publishers right? To be specific here I'm talking about Unit Sales/copies.

Seem comic have far bigger reader base compare to Manga if we going by the amount of sales volume but I think Manga have far bigger shadow readers. What I mean by 'shadow readers' is people who read manga for free.

On the basis of the information in the above mentioned link, In 2015, 98 million copies of Comic were sold.

In contrast to this, In the first half of 2016, 60.97 million copies of Manga were sold.

Even though the comparison is not likewise but it still shows that manga has bigger reader base.

On top of that as Kuntilanak have mentioned, There are large number of Manga readers who read Manga for free online. If we include them in the statistics then result would clearly be in the favor of manga

And bcus Manga is easy to find and read compare to Comic. There is no free Comic website :sdo:

NA mainly USA is comic biggest mother land. It makes sense but I can sure you there exist zero 'shadow readers' in comic world unlike Manga to be added into the tally.

Even if such site exist I think not many people would jump in to read Spiderman, Thor, Superman,Shazam etc for the mainstream publishers or less known comic publishers.

People looks for something that can give them a complete story this day and not a recycle characters for the sake of making story and money.
