I guess in case obito would die or maybe according to his plan he might have a high risk of dying.
Maybe for some other purpose.

Reviving madara just didnt seem on his list. He wasnt happy that madara got revived by kabuto either, even though he expected madara to be capable of breaking free.

Well.....that does make sense. Now Im starting to remember Obito's long pauses between Madara's questions. I would prefer him betraying Madara and getting killed, rather than him becoming good again.
