This should just be 2012 so Vision, Reborn and if Asuna starts RPing in 2012 than him to since he uses Ken and Tai a lot more than most people from the 12 gen.
Light your list is good for 2011 tho it could use more tho this thread should just be for 2012.

Gaara make a thread for the 2011 gen >_>
2012 ?

I can only think of,
Wind..
Vision, i don't know ~_~ He uses genjutsu and i think it's cheap. :p
-Broly- Maybe O^O

And your in one of those villages that had "giant toads" and 4 - 5 members already at the gates when Konoha nins hadn't even set out from konoha yet.
Why the hell does everybody hate Genjutsu for?! Genjutsu is only cheap to those who don't understand it and/or are heavily based on actual physical fighting withou much deception, which is somewhat counter to the concept of shinobi. In some ways I dislike the way Kishi portrays shinobi in his seris seeing as in the times when there were actual shinobi, they weren't militia, they were secret mercenaries and there weren't a lot of them in single areas like we see with the village system. A lot of techniques in the series don't 100% exemplify what shinobi would've used and surely direct war like battles were not their style. However, illusions, genjutsu are a prime example of the deception and gurrilla tactics that ninja would've used. Genjutsu in it of itself isn't a real form but the style is symbolic to deceptive tactics. I'm biased (having bias doesn't make you horrible) on this for reasons of my own passion towards genjutsu and my passive indirect nature which puts my natural balance and polarity more towards Yin.

Reborn started RPing a bit before me if I remember right. Like a couple weeks since I remember lurking his bio as an example, I started on the 11/11/11. So that means he's 2011 gen.
For me; Hard. Hands down, since I know he's definitely 2012 gen. Like april or something.
You are correct Scaze, I started RP in October 2011 (My Anniversary just passed :T_T: I didn't get a present) so I'm technically late 2011 generation. Though I see little difference in. I would say past the 8 month mark of a year, you should stop grouping those after in the same generation. So the generation for 2011 would close Sept 2011. Though this is just how I classify it, doesn't mean it's right. Just how I keep track :p

I have to agree with Reborn on this one. What would define a generation? I would personally see it as a group of people who were kind of grouped together through starting off and ending around the same point be the same generation. People such as Scaze, Toshiro etc who would have started late 2011 and people who started early 2012 such as Vision would be all considered the same generation in my eyes. Although some people would consider these generation gaps larger in retrospect, it's just how I see it.

surprised no one mentioned me

I think the problem with a lot of the newer generation(s) is the fact that they were brought into a RP where everything feels rushed, like everything needs to be done in a few days. People get all the basic elements finished within a couple of months, get the special abilities they want and so on, and thus don't understand the appropriate usage of the techniques. Not everyone is like this, but the people who are imo could never be considered the best RPers of a generation.

I agree with you both. For the simple fact that the majority of people will be on their computers in the winter, (unless you're Australian), since it's cold. Especially in places like Europe where it rains all the freakin' time. =_=. If you look at the number of RP'rs and when they started, it more or less agrees with this. The amount of people that join the RP in late September up until February/March is generally more than the amount of people who join in the spring/summer months. So technically, late September onwards should be considered the "New Wave", or "New Gen", IMO.

These discussions should serve for two things: for people to get recognition for their RP growth and achievements and for people to get honest feedback on both. Not to argue or flame or measure...things >_>

This said, I agree that the generation things are quite weird at time to place. I started to RP in 2011, April or May if i'm not mistaken. I clearly 2011 generation but Reborn? I think he's more a 2012. why? first 2 or 3 months is basically stumbling upon threads, reading rules, getting your foot on the ground that is the RP. This said, you take 2 or 3 months to really start showing what kind of RPear you'll be.

From 2012 I've seen amazing growth and very very good Rpears.

Reborn
Scaze (i think he's 2012)
Kerrah

These three are excellent examples of good conduct and overall skill.

I have other people in mind though I dunno when they started to RP, be it in 2011 or 2012. Erzo, Toshiro, Hazama (i think he's 2010 actually) and McRazor.

However, the problem is that the black sheep of each generation tend to overshadow the ones that really shine. The arguments, the constant bickering, the constant complaints and the demeanor of the rest (or even of only a few) tends to make the generation seem in a way that its not.

How is genjutsu cheap? Everyone has an element they like the most and an element they enjoy using, it just so happens that he picked Genjutsu rather than one of the basic 5, Nin or tai.

His custom genjutsus are quite epic, and I know they'd be a pain to fight against.

Hard, his way of Role playing leaves me believing he's been at it for ages. There are also a couple more from 2012 that are exceptionally good, I don't remember any more right now though.
