although your post is dripping with sarcasm I will attempt to enlighten you music has various elements: harmony, melody and rhythm rap for the most part has rhythm but lacks harmony and melody, but then people seem to think that anything with enough bass sounds good these days(at least the djs at the clubs think so) I am biased as I only like to listen to music that is made by musicians you know people who can sing/play a musical instrument. People who speak in time to a beat about how many b****s they have scored how much drugs they do and how many people they have shot just don't do it for me

okay. I don't know what you listen to in the rap department, but there are plenty of artists who add the harmony and the melody, sometimes through the use of the beat itself. good dj's can create a multi-layered sound that allows a artist to spit on, while still meeting your criteria. and if all the rap you listen to is about b****** and drugs and killing people you need to listen to better shit.

I really hope this thread is a joke because if any of you believe that souja boy is an mc then you don't know hip hop. Children please let me elighten you. Krs-one, wu tang clan, deadprez, talib kwali, mod def, rakim, the roots, old common before he sold out, old jay-z, what you guys claim to be rap is nothing more the catchy beats, repetitive lyrics and a horrible message. Hip hop is suppose to make us think not dumb us down with stupid catch phrases and dances. Rap now a days are just pop songs with curse words. Lame.

A lot of underground basically, I hate most mainstream music, and I'm not too inclined to give someone the title as best rapper because there are dozens of rappers who I haven't heard and it's only my opinion, plus people's taste in music changes and it might not be the kind of change I like (lil wayne).
