What do you think the best rap albums of all time are (or your favorites)? In my opinion (no particular order):

All Eyez on Me - Tupac
Ready to Die - Notorious B.I.G.
Illmatic - Nas
The Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem
36 Chambers - Wu-Tang Clan

Agree/disagree? Why? Post your list, too!

Idk about all of hip hop. thats a hard one. i can give you my top five west coast hip hop albums. but as a whole, it would be too hard. New york was putting out some gas for the east coast. New york hip hop in a sense is not better than west coast hip hop ( neither is west coast better) but there is a certain style of east coast hip hop that makes it more stylish and lavish where as at the time all of the west coast hip hop as a whole was gritty and rugged.

Tupac- All eyes on me
NWA - straight outta compton
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Dr Dre- The Chronic
Ice Cube -Lethal Injection.

These may have been the most influential abums of the late 80's and early 90's that shaped hip hop as far as west coast hip hop. i am unaware about how down south or mid west hip hop influenced said regions, but as far as the west these are my picks

this list is almost perfect and flawless but i do not think wu tang's album should be top 5, it think either JayZ the Black Album or Carter 2...it only makes since that the top 5 best rappers ever have the top 5 best rap albums ever too, so it makes sense to drop wu tang although great but still drop them and put The Black Abum or Carter 2 but your first 4 are perfect

Thanks man, I put Wu because I grew up listening to them and watching old kung-fu movies :p but it was a revolutionary, ambitious album, nothing like it before. I think it deserves it's place there! But you could put a Jay-Z album up there for sure, I agree with you there.

I'm glad to see someone else think of GKMC. Album is just art.
