Dai is just great and everything a dad should be, parenting like that creates great people like Guy who in turn emulate that onto the next generation.

Shikaku was a real person who just understood Shikamaru, he trusted in him and is the only real convincing parent in the entire show...I just realised how much of a massive Shikaku fanboy I am. Shame he died.​
