So, there is always a difference between "highly acclaimed" and popular

Justin Beiber is popular. Would anyone in the INDUSTRY put him at the top of any "best" list? No.

My favorite band isn't popular. Depending on your age, you might know them, but probably not. If you've heard of them, you probably don't know any of their songs.

Yet at the same time, ask almost ANY rock band who their favorite band is, and they're likely to be their answer.

They influenced a shit ton of music and don't get the praise they deserve.

They are Radiohead. And they're damn good

If you go off the beaten path, sure, but they were the one always copied. there are elements of them in almost every existing rock band. They're one of a kind in a GOOD way

I interpret modern music as music made in this day and age, like Foster the People, Dan Croll and Two Door Cinema Club.

I just prefer indie music because of it's style, art and feel.
