There's no justifying it, honestly, besides that it worked for adding to the overall mood of the episode. That Momoshiki was going down at the hands of powerful earthlings he had underestimated.
Outside of childish nitpicking over what we’d rather see, the overall justification is plot, of boruto, of which without these characters currently don’t exist and or do shit

It's not a fair comparison mate since both were unexpected, the chidori Katana moreso than the rasengan. To me it's not reallt about the damage inflicted as much as it's about effect on the opponent. if you watch the anime fight Momo went onto take his chakra pills and powered up and bulked up even more than he was vs Naruto and Sasuke. Even in that state Borat was landing hits on him and hurt him with a baby rasengan again. That's just taking the piss or shitting on rokudo users with a drop in the writing standards/quality.

I don't see us agreeing on this one I'm afraid, I guess my gripe is I expect consistency.

That's PedobitoSama's natural reaction to constructive criticism. As time goes on you'll see why he's lost many a friend.

Well, not everyone can agree on everything. I respect your opinion, although tbh I think you expected too much out of an sp anime episode.

It does justify it. Boruto had to be the one to take him down, so it'd be him with the seal.
But postulating that Sasuke or Naruto were the chosen ones for the seal on paper, it would have not spurred a controversy, worth noting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Boruto having a shine for a moment, and I honestly thought it was befitting for Sasuke's student. It was Sasuke who brought him along, so it was really going to fall back on Sasuke's judgement if Boruto turned out to be a burden.

It just would have been a better route not to have Boruto have a whole solo moment where he almost overwhelms Momoshiki on his own, with just small aid from Sasuke. It raises concern over where the line is drawn and where it's just the writing's will dictating the writing than the story itself actually having influence as it should where writing is concerned.

It may have been a good deliverance at face value, but there's underlying consequences, like how strong Boruto even is, or whether he will be progressing from then on or de-progressing where he's weakened so he doesn't outshine even the likes of Konohamaru.

Whether it's even worth debating over how strong characters are in comparison if plot overrules powers, like Boruto's limit being overruled by plot, as other characters have been at one point or another, such as Naruto when he was faced against Kabuto in Part 1.

They got it right the first time round. It's great choreography but is nobody else so endlessly bored of the 5th-6th adaptation of the same emotionally uninvested battle? The original had the cinematography, suitable length and budget of an actual movie.

still prefer kakashi vs obito

That is literally my favorite fight of Naruto. Kakashi and Obito have two great fights, one when they are young and another during the war arc.

I agree it's a real ninja fight without the excess. A real fight with thaijutsu, tool use, deception and whatever comes with it. The kind of battles I enjoyed instead of the spam(Shadow clones, relying on Kyubi) and overpowered nonsense we got as the manga progressed.

Indeed!

Obito vs Kakashi got me so hyped back then. I really enjoyed it and like you said and well, it has a bit of everything, above all it shows how some characters were resourceful to get out of certain situations.

Kakashi genius was truly underrated and forgotten in my opinion. He was a pure strategist.
