Personally I have never liked Ben Affleck. He comes off as arrogant and pompous. I hated his performance in Daredevil and have seldom liked him in anything I've seen him in. In his defense I have not seen everything he has done. Still, I don't like the idea of him as Batman. I'm also tired of Batman. Hopefully after this they will wait another decade before they put Batman in a movie. I'll give him a chance. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

You have a point, however. I don't think Affleck has the intestinal fortitude to go to the extent that Ledger did for his role as the Joker. He has truly set the stage for anyone who takes on that role in the future. Jack Nickolson was great but Ledger is now iconic for his performance. He "became" the Joker. Affleck will always be Affleck.

You are right. He is a very capable actor/writer/director though I personally don't care for him much. One cannot deny his success but these things are not the problem. No matter what you see him in he still always has that "Affleck" feel to him. One mark of a truly talented actor is their ability to break free of their own personality and I never get that feeling from him. I will see this movie and hopefully be surprised by his performance. I too shall save "most" of my judgemnet for after the movie.I dont think so. Ben Affleck is a rare gem in the hollywood Industry. He can write, act and direct for pete sake. I'm a fan. I will save my judgement after the movie.
