Before Itachi became the Solo King, I believe he inherited skills from the one and only Mr. Shisui "One-shot" Uchiha.

What we know about Shisui:

• Good speed/shunshin
  
• Good genjutsu (Kotoamatsukami)

Itachi is also very quick; he has a 5/5 in the speed stat, and he can perform jutsus so fast that even seasoned Sharingan users can't keep up.

While Teenage Bee can react to FTG, as an adult Bee is caught off-guard by Itachi's shunshin blitz:

Itachi is also good at genjutsu; he has a 5/5 in the genjutsu stat, he can cast genjutsu without his eyes, and he possess the ghastly Tsukuyomi (plus the Sharingan crow).

Shisui could perform long-range genjutsu and the manga also confirms that Itachi can do the same:

Of course, there is other aspects to Itachi like Shurikenjutsu, Susanoo, etc but do you really think it's a coincidence he just happens to excel in speed and genjutsu...? I didn't think so.
