no the obvious answer is; hollow. now i had a crazy thought when i re-read this episode, in anticipation of the spoilers coming out soon

what if aizen didnt give ichigo any powers. he states that ichigo posses the finest raw materials for his research.


he states hes known of ichigo from the day he was born. does that indicate that he didnt know of ichigo's existance porior to him being born ? that he had no part in his birth/creation... and thus that if he didnt know of him before birth that he didnt fundamentally change ichigos make up (ps sorry biology degree makes me think genetics xd)

And so i think to myself. if Aizen didnt cause ichigo to be shinigami and a ... ( hollow (?) )

and i think to myself. he has a shinigami father, voila. that explains explains the shinigami powers... now remember this for a sec, his father has thrown away his captain class powers/position(?) to be a 2-bit medic and raise a family, why would he do such a thing. hes captain class...hes the **** people dont argue with captains cos they die. The only reason i can think of is that he either wanted or did something that was unforgiveable, and doing so pissed off powerfull people

Anyways back to ichigo - So, where does his hollow powers come from....duh! genetics dave! you have a degree in biology its obv where the other half of his make up comes from... 1/2 comes from your daddy and the other half comes of it comes from your mummy xd

SO!?!?! the implications - what sort of wierd twist would it be if he had a hollow mother?

ps i realise this is a bit far fetched.and i have gone of on one, but beer is a good thing. and if any1s come up with this before me respect for being more tap'd in the head than Iam.

No -_- why? Because why would Kubo have cut off that sentence in the middle then? Till now we always assumed Ichigo's mother was a human...what difference would that make in the manga? None so why would he keep it silent in the manga at the most crucial part if she's just a human? For Ichigo? He already assumed she was a human.

What Aizen meant can be a lot of things but there's one thing that it can't be and that's a human. Unless Kubo is on crack again.

Ichigo's mother being a hollow would also explain why Isshin had left the Soul Society and had Kisuke make those untraceable gigai for him. We know that its possible for higher level hollows like espada who have gained consciousness to act friendly towards shinigami. Particularly Nel's behavior toward Ichigo. Also before Ulquiorra disappeared he said he now understood the human heart and seemed to have a certain attachment towards Orihime.

So its definitely possible.

What if ichigo is a gigai? an amazing gigai created by urahara for a strong shinigami who had to escape with some of his family (father and sisters) because soul society saw them as a threat because of there amazing strength and started a campaign to secretly kill them.

Something many people theorise is that Ichigo is Kaien reincarnated, Kaien was consumed by a hollow, it is possible that Ichigo was born with the hollow inside him, just dormant until he unlocked his Shinigami powers?

Would explain that Ichigo is Shinigami and Hollow, due to the link between him, Isshin and possibly Kaien and the hollow he was consumed by?

Maybe? Or maybe I'm talking rubbish.
