Yes, today my life is not the same,
Rather it never was.
I was finding the sunshine in gloomy shadows,
That’s how it was.
Then one day I met you,
You were standing on the bank of river,
With that shiny and pretty dress,
Maybe waiting for someone to arrive,
And call you his ‘damsel in distress’,
I tried to run towards you,
With all the strength that was left,
Alas! You disappeared before I can hold you,
Leaving me more lonely and bereft.
I don’t know whether you were an illusion,
Or some mighty angel descended from the sky,
I don’t know why I even met you,
Or why your disappearance left me dry.
I still don’t know the reason,
I will probably never know,
I will search for you for my entire life,
Probably you will never show.
Believe me I have moved on,
From those romantic rivers and from that charismatic lawn,
I believe that one day there will be a new dawn,
Because just like they say life goes on…
