The war between indra and ashura was finally ended. Sasuke was the one to break it and that is by him finally accepting that might and hate is not the key to victory.

At that momen when Sasuke felt Naruto was truly his friend. Sasuke realized that he doesn't have to use migjt and power and that Naruto method of peacs was much better. This is whay Sasuke meant by he lost and Sasuke gained a lot of respect because of it

If you mean physical battle then no. If you mean ideological battle then yes, although it was forced TNJ though.
