Marching through the endless sands Orochimaru scans his bleak surroundings, searching for something as of yet unknown. The sun bore down on the desert and raised the temperature to an almost unbearable degree, although the Sannin did not show any outward discomfort possibly due to the modifications he had made to himself.

Hmm I was sure I left that secret base here, it couldn't have moved.


Thinking to himself, the last time he had been here he asked Kabuto to make sure to lock the lair on his way out. Orochimaru turned about in anger, ready to slap a hoe to show dominance.

KABUTO, you lil' Bi-

At that point Orochimaru noticed the man several meters away was infact not Kabuto which was strange as Orochimaru had been sure he was there until now.

Who the hell are you? Did you take the keys to the Snake Cave?!

Chun silently stood in the desert awaiting the target. To his left and right in front of him, around 3 meters away many scrolls and quivers were located. The quivers were slightly modified. They contained fans, swords, whips, tags, and much more ninja equipment. Chun didnt feel like getting anything on his body with this weather, so his weapons were distributed.

Chun had been waiting for the arrival of the white snake for a while now, so much so that he pretty much memorized the ugly terrain. It was pretty artistic though. Some dunes and formations here and there. It would make any artist wet. Speaking of wet, Chun had been hydrating through a water gallon that was inside one of the quivers, the gallon was still pretty much full.

Orochimaru then wipes the blood on his summoning tattoo calling a large 60m snake to appear on his left hand side, upon being summoned the snake would flick its tail attempting to slam into Chun's right side and deal a good amount of damage possibly breaking bones.

And so it begins. A standard start to an un-standard fight. Chun was anything but annoyed, he welcomed the situation with a singe hand seal. As such, upon the creation of the swamp and the formation of the seal, a monstrous amount of water is brought forth into the field. The water forms into a beautifully grotesquely wonderful creature of no specific nature. It had wings, tentacles, fangs, and a face that would put Orochimaru's mother to shame. The creatures base, which consisted of tiger paws at the end of tentacle legs were situated at multiple points around and in the swamp. The creation would serve three main purposes. Removing Chun from the swamp through lowering a portion of its body and 'plucking' him out like the rose he is. Chun would then reside in the 'belly' of the creation. The second purpose is to strike towards Orochimaru from multiple directions with the usage of its many tentacles. The tentacles would have sharp edges, making contact with them very deadly. To be specific, the tentacles come from three directions, above and the sides. The tentacles, if they successfully hit Oro, would combine into one large water mass that would restrict his movement and attempt to crush him while dragging him into the swamp. The water would then forcibly pin down Oro into the swamp, face first. The third usage is similar to the first. The creature would, when getting Chun, retrieve the weapons/equipment that are located in the multiple quivers. The quivers would also be in the bulk that is the belly of the beast. Internally, 3 explosively tagged shuriken are retrieved. The shuriken are projected by the movement of water from the creation, somewhat like a torpedo, but powered by water. The shuriken are aimed towards Oros general direction.

Chun and the quivers would then be moved backwards out of the creation and the range of the swamp by 5 meters. During all this Chun maintains the tiger hand seal. The creature has a long range reach, and it's body is slightly in front of Chun, 3 legs are near Chun, one several meters behind, another to his right, and the final one to his left.

As the watery creation begins to move Orochimaru focuses his chakra into Chun, placing him within a simple genjutsu. In the illusion it would appear as if snakes had wrapped around his whole body, preventing movement as one of the snakes squeezes his throat. Its thick body around his neck would seem to choke the life out of Chun while stopping him from even opening his mouth to scream. However in reality due to this disruption in his chakra flow his hold over the water creature is broken as it simply disperses as regular water. This leaves Chun in a tentative position, waist deep in the swamp while immobilized by the genjutsu, this effectively leaves him open to any dangers that come his way.

Following this Orochimaru continues simply by stomping upon the ground, focusing his chakra into the earth beneath and surrounding Chun. By doing so he creates three pillars of fire in a triangle, spaced evenly so that they all meet on the man at the center.

As Chun was attacking he suddenly feels restricted. This was due to the presence of snakes. It was very likely that this was an illusion. Firstly the snakes appeared without any proper ritual, and secondly their appearance itself was very suspicious. They didn't even get affected by the swamp. This all lead to Chun believing that he was in an illusion. As such he dealt with the situation accordingly. He would release chakra from all over his body, this would not only release him from the illusion, but it would also affect Orochimaru who would have just gotten hit with the water, getting trapped by it, removing his ability to perform hand seals or moving normally. Chun would not let that opportunity escape him. He would close his hand and cause the water to crush inwards on Oro, breaking his bones as a result. Not only that, Chun would also move his hand so that if Oro was safe from the water he would still get moved around, specifically towards the swamp. With his other hand Chun would have controlled the water on his end to push him and his equipment backwards towards safety. The remaining water would then be manipulated by Chun to rise up into the air, the water would fall on your location. Chun would be a few meters away from the edge of the swamp.

Description: This technique is used as another form of intimidation, by showcasing the amount of chakra the user currently wields/posses. The user will exert chakra from all over their body releasing their chakra causing it to take on a transparent hue but visible to the eye. Resembling a distortion in the air. This chakra due to it being very powerful becomes very dense, meaning others though its not offensive, can feel it. As if their body got slightly heavier then normal. Depending on how much chakra is released, depends on how far the chakra can be felt from a distance.
Note: This jutsu is mainly for rping purposes but the effects of S rank can stun a chounin and genin

I believe the water would fall to protect me from the kunai. When I used PBRT it should have been inferred that it would block the kunai, but I guess thats a mistake on my end for not clearly stating that. But despite that its not like Im going to create the water that far away from me, if I would whats the point of its creation then o_O Anyways, you wait until the water starts moving, and as agreed that leads to you getting hit by the tentacles when they disperse into unranked water when you cast the gen. So I find it weird that you agree that the tentacles can move from the sides and reach you, but water cant move directly downwards in order to pick me up, then upon the illusion, be broken into unranked water and still reach me, thus blocking the kunais. You even said I would get affected by the water myself when we talked about you getting hit with the unranked water. So, yeah. In other terms. You agree that water would travel from the side and reach you mid range away from me, but dont agree that it would move a few meters dowanrds to reach me. It doesnt add up.

By that logic swamp cant be countered. The common tech used to counter it is the A rank water tech, it follows the same pulling idea, that counter works so why doesnt this one? Like if you were at the edge of the swamp and a clone/ally tried to pull you away, would that fail? No it wouldnt. Heck, about the yanking part, this is even safer than the A rank water tech. Because it's affecting my whole body at once while the A rank is releasing water from my mouth.

So as you know I have two issues, the explosive tagged kunai that I threw in the first move and the technique you used to remove yourself from the swamp.

Timeframe is:

Firstly I completed the hand seals for the swamp and immediately followed that with the kunai, and you reply with the water creature. I then used the genjutsu which prevented the water from moving to envelop you and thus the water would not block my kunai from reaching you. Due to having thrown them a whole turn earlier the kunai would be moving fast and basically right in front of you as the water creature is dispersed, while the pressure of a king technique does not help protect you. I even indirectly mentioned the kunai's approach in my second move "effectively leaves him open to any dangers that come his way." Due to this I believe the tagged kunai would reach you and detonate collectively, killing you before the leftover water would fall the few meters from above you and interfere, again due to having thrown the kunai so early in the fight.

Secondly I have doubts whether a B ranked water technique would have the strength to be able to remove you from the swamp, especially due to its "adhesive, chakra infused" nature which would leave it sticking to you. Even if it does have the required strength, yanking yourself out of the swamp in this way would risk injuring yourself as you pull your upper body while your lower body is stuck and resists the movement, possibly injuring your chest or spine.

First, the Kunais. They''ve got explosive tags, but they are, indeed, unranked. I can see where Houdini was going with this, what with trying to quickly dismantle the water beast so as to let his kunais do the trick.
But - and there is a but.
Timing like this is hard to judge. Are the kunais thrown 'slow' enough that the illusion can take effect, or fast enough that they explode harmlessly against the beast? My verdict is to simplify the timeframe; the kunais are thrown after the swamp but before the water monster, so I would say that they 'hit' as the monster is formed. To be honest though; this is one of those times where it's a purely subjective verdict. How can we measure the speed of kunais in terms of the timeframe? Vayne did not mention them, no, but his counter is nonetheless 'correct.'

As for getting out of the Swamp I agree with Houdini. You Fishman Karate technique is B-ranked. It won't take you anywhere out of an A-ranked swamp. Water is weak against Earth.

As Chun was attacking he suddenly feels restricted. This was due to the presence of snakes. It was very likely that this was an illusion. Firstly the snakes appeared without any proper ritual, and secondly their appearance itself was very suspicious. They didn't even get affected by the swamp. This all lead to Chun believing that he was in an illusion. As such he dealt with the situation accordingly. He would release chakra from all over his body, this would not only release him from the illusion, but it would also affect Orochimaru who would have just gotten hit with the water, getting trapped by it, removing his ability to perform hand seals or moving normally. Chun would not let that opportunity escape him. He would close his hand and cause the water to crush inwards on Oro, breaking his bones as a result. Not only that, Chun would also move his hand so that if Oro was safe from the water he would still get moved around, specifically towards the swamp. With his other hand Chun would have controlled the water on his end to push him and his equipment backwards towards safety. The remaining water would then be manipulated by Chun to rise up into the air, the water would fall on your location. Chun would be a few meters away from the edge of the swamp.

I believe the water would fall to protect me from the kunai. When I used PBRT it should have been inferred that it would block the kunai, but I guess thats a mistake on my end for not clearly stating that. But despite that its not like Im going to create the water that far away from me, if I would whats the point of its creation then o_O Anyways, you wait until the water starts moving, and as agreed that leads to you getting hit by the tentacles when they disperse into unranked water when you cast the gen. So I find it weird that you agree that the tentacles can move from the sides and reach you, but water cant move directly downwards in order to pick me up, then upon the illusion, be broken into unranked water and still reach me, thus blocking the kunais. You even said I would get affected by the water myself when we talked about you getting hit with the unranked water. So, yeah. In other terms. You agree that water would travel from the side and reach you mid range away from me, but dont agree that it would move a few meters dowanrds to reach me. It doesnt add up.

By that logic swamp cant be countered. The common tech used to counter it is the A rank water tech, it follows the same pulling idea, that counter works so why doesnt this one? Like if you were at the edge of the swamp and a clone/ally tried to pull you away, would that fail? No it wouldnt. Heck, about the yanking part, this is even safer than the A rank water tech. Because it's affecting my whole body at once while the A rank is releasing water from my mouth.
After being knocked over from the weak wave of water Orochimaru would easily stand again, as he does so he notices Chun release a burst of chakra throughout his body. The Sannin would feel a slight pressure on his body as this happens, however it would not affect his movement to any significant degree. In response Orochimaru draws his sword and flicks it twice with his wrist in small movements. By doing so he takes all of the leftover water from his surroundings and forms it into a large S ranked dragon that launches itself at Chun. The dragon would be surrounded by a thin mist that would come into play momentarily.

With Chun sinking further and further into the swamp the Sannin takes the opportunity to activate Sage Mode, flooding his body with natural energy to empower his body and techniques. While making him more aware of his surroundings.

Description: The user will focus their water chakra into their water based techniques, creating a veil of mist around the water techniques. The creation of the veil can be created within the same time-frame the attack is sent by simply performing an extra hand seal during performance. The veil over the body of water is thin, so the user can still keep relatively easy visual on the opponent and the mist is easily noticeable by regular eyes. This technique acts as a second life to many water techniques: streams, projectiles, humanoids, armors, etc. Essentially the mist around the water will be intangible and initially play no role in the clash of the two original techniques, however, when the users original technique is weakened, the mist ability be put into fruition. The mist will turn into a body of water, and flush itself back into original body of the technique, regenerating it if it was weakened or reforming if it was negated/overpowered. This mist can regenerate specific parts of the water structures or its whole body, and can only be used once for the whole body or body parts (mainly applies to humanoids). The regeneration of the technique happens instantly when attacked and passively. Full regeneration can only occur to water techniques A-Rank and below restoring their initial rank, while S-Ranks can be regenerated, but weakened to an A-Rank. This technique can be used with only water techniques, and extends to many different variants of water- syrup, crystalline, rain, etc. The technique after reformation will have the same bodily movement and abilities it had beforehand. After the mist does its job, it disperses, it will remain dormant around the technique until interaction with a jutsu. When the opponent and users techniques initially clash the forward momentum will slow down, and as it regenerates, allowing the opponent time to react, maneuver, and counter.

( Sennin Modo ) – Sage Mode

Description: In the normal Sage Mode, the user, by standing perfectly still in a meditative focus (user must stay still for 1 turn), will draw into him natural energy which he will then blend with their own chakra adding a new dimension of power to it. By doing this, the user gains access to what is called senjutsu chakra. This new chakra allows the user to enter an empowered state called Sage Mode, which then drastically increases the strength of his techniques and his physical prowess (speed, strength, stamina, etc). However, by infusing his body with Jugo's cells Orochimaru was able to mimic his ability to passively gather natural energy at all times, becoming able to enter Sage Mode at any time he wishes without needing to wait one turn to gather the needed natural energy. The Snake sage mode gives different effects and features than its toad counter part. The user gains yellow eyes with a black sclera. They gain further access to snake anatomy, such as their brille, which can be used to block out some light as well as stop visual-based genjutsu from affecting them and their scales, which bestow a rudimentary yet effective protection from minor attacks. They are also able to perform abilities that are characteristic of snakes, such as dislocating their jaw, although this is not exclusive to this mode. Their physical strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, and durability dramatically increase, with more emphasis on speed, agility and reflexes rather than strength, endurance and raw power. When Sage mode ends the user then experiences physical exhaustion reducing their capabilities the following turn and preventing him from using techniques above A-Rank and Taijutsu above B-Rank. A user can prevent this by using a shadow clone to collect natural energy and dispelling it before or after sage mode ends or by ending sage mode before it times out. While sage mode is active, minor wounds heal slowly as time passes and the user gains the ability to passively sense his surroundings through the natural energy, in a similar but more precise and enhanced way as normal chakra sensing. While Sage Mode is active, the user will take little damage from techniques B-Rank and below and A-Rank and below Taijutsu. Taijutsu gains +15 damage, main elemental affinity gains +20 damage, other elemental ninjutsu gain +10 damage and Genjutsu gains +20 damage.
