Base naruto would beat asuma he is a great strategest and has stamina along with clones which is enough you forget it only take a rasengan to beat most ninja

Base Naruto is a Chunin, IMO.
Rasengan is too direct, can be easily dodged.
Since he can't throw Rasenshuriken in Base.. yet, It's kind of a double-edged sword.
Now, he does have Shadow Clones. Which he uses in a unique way.
Vs. a Sharingan user, Rinnegan user, or any Akatsuki Level person, he wouldn't be able to hold his own. He would need Kurama or Sage Mode.

As I have said earlier, he could have ended sage mode as soon as he saved sakura.
In Neji's defense, he had to use Kurama's chakra to win in the end, which means that naruto wasn't in base mode when he won. Technically, when naruto was in base mode, his clever plans were overcome and he lost to Neji's 64 palms technique, so therefore that battle cannot be included in this discussion.
As per the speed, Asuma could have easily done that himself like so many other ninja could with shunshin jutsu. The same could be said with the taijutsu. The databooks are actually a good representation of his base mode. If it went farther than that and included sage mode, KM, or BM, then he would have 5's in nearly all areas.
That could also be applied to you as well.

if you are talking about his base mode the most powerful power he has in base mode is strength ! dont you remember the fight with zabuza ? he not actually beats him off but disable him ! and forgotten the fight with kabuto ? or the ink ninja where kabuto was not able to fight with them but he was ? while if we take every one base mode they are nothing ! like sasuky with out sharingin is nothing ! madara as well ! but these power actually there base so formation of sumthing is really their base ! like if we blind madara he is nothing ! so as if we take out kyubi he might become lesspower full ! and if blinding madara is not easy then so taking out kyubu ! and esp inside from NARUTO ! is likly to say Take care XD

He couldnt, becuase SM markings dosnt dissappear right away. Naruto saved Sakura in base form.
It isnt since its outdated, it was released in 2008.

Databook is outdated and actually Im basing my opinion only on feats. I gave links, didnt I?
Because he cannot use two natures, although he is more powerful than most jonin, he could only be a special jonin. But I don't think we can talk about kages because each one (except for as far as we know the 3rd) has had some natural talent going for them, and kurama I think can be counted as a natural ability even though it truly isn't. I personally believe that base naruto could take on and at least challenge if not beat tsunade.
are people still seriously still debating this. Kakashi blatantly said Naruto was the very least on par with him.

He was in sage mode before he got to sakura and it faded as he got there. But asuma has shown the same feat as he saved shikamaru from the 9 sound ninja look up the link your self of I will post it later
He used a clone to catch the sword thats not a testament to his tai skills and they weren't trying to kill them ("Don't cut them") so that point/link is pointless
But again think what you will....IMO he is not

Does he still even fight to the fullest in base mode? Most of his fights during the ongoing war, he was on KM or SM so I cant really tell, maybe base Naruto is if he's in KM then he's on another level greater than Jounin. I'll guess uhmm, So6P level. Haha.

Naruto is NOT a Jounin... RANKINGS ARE BASED ON HOW FAR OR HOW MANY THEY HAVE FINISHED THEIR MISIONS..
Therefore, he saved Sakura in base mode, not in SM.
Making clone in a blink of an eye and catching sword without hurting himself? Jounin level skill. Even Karui was very impressed.
If base Naruto isnt Jounin level shinobi, then Asuma also isnt, since he isnt stronger at all.
