I totaly didn't catch that. I just thought bart. Just wanted to keep it in the ring so he could go up against luffy. And also why did kuma protect their ship? I guess people just like luffy

Up until MS's translation, I always presumed him to be working for the Revs. and Sabo was the who recruited him. So I guess I'll just have to wait for VIZ to clear this up.

When you see Kuma, do you think he's a Rev? When you see Iva, do you think he's a Rev? Just 'cause one's character doesn't appear to be similar to the mainstream version of a Revolutionary, doesn't mean they aren't one. Plus, Sabo (if he's alive & a Rev.) could've saved his life and Barto just owes him a dept of gratitude. So thusly he's just Sabo's subordinate.
