[Discussion] Bartolomeo"s Suprise

People around here have been saying that Sabo is working under Dofla and that perhaps the person who Bartolomeo is trying to give the fruit to is Sabo.

I think it makes lots of sense considering: bartolomeo already has a devil fruit, Sabo could want the fruit as bad as Luffy.
Yes we still dont know that Sabo is alive, although there have been many hints to it.

bartolomeo reaction still makes me wonder..

Im sure he doesnt fear luffy, he doesnt seem like a guy that would. Maybe hes just shocked that Sabo friend is there too going for the fruit. Or who knows?
Just my two cents. Oda wouldnt just throw out his reaction for no reason.

All I can say is Bartolomeo's reaction is out of fear if not, just shocked to learn that Luffy is in the tournament. Simple as that.

I don't see what this has to do with Sabo. He's a different issue that will come along after a long while.

Hopeful theory about Bartolomeo and Sabo, but the correlation of these two even knowing each other is far above Oda's explanation....Or perception for that matter.

It's probably best to think things through deeper and consider many details before coming up with a theory like this. The only way I could possibly even think just a tiny bit that he works for, Sabo is if, Bartolomeo wasn't a pirate captain.

Whoever this person is he's working for must be someone he respects deeply. At the same time the same person he's wanting to give it to may be the same person, Caribou was speaking of.
This theory of yours is a bit too much, especially when saying that it's possibly, Sabo JUST because it's, Aces old ability. Not enough.

I don't see Bartolomeo as the type of person who would randomly show his fear - he seem fearless to me, not as high as Eustass Kidd, of course.
His reaction somewhat gave out the "Oh shit, I'm here in the tournament to win that fruit for Sabo, I didn't expect his brother to join this tournament as well." vibe.
Plus, Bartolomeo doesn't gave out the antagonist-like vibe at all and he seemed like a depressive teenager rather than an evil pirate.

More like confidence that his barrier would protect him and at the same time it would finish them off.
He's definitely overconfident. He was also showing sweat. Oda, doesn't show sweat when someone is shocked. He has other types of drawings that he does for such.

I think that Bartolomeo's reaction is more of a surprise to see him there. Remember he is a big time rookie. This is his first year in piracy. I think that he was inspired by Luffy and all his actions that brought a new era. And seeing Luffy is like seeing shanks for Luffy.
