[Suggestion] Ban Itachi threads for just one day

I enjoyed them too, heck I even made some myself, but they've become abused, lackluster and have overstayed their welcome. Honestly Itachi's my favorite character, but ever since the Itachi episode came out two days ago the redundant amount of Itachi threads have surpassed all sanity. For the sake of saving NB, please ban Itachi threads for at least a day or two until creativity returns to NB.

By the way, there's precedent in my suggestion. According the global rules there was a time when religious threads were completely banned after only a few incidents of flaming. Given how Itachi threads have run amok, it's not asking too much to implement my suggestion when precedent renders my suggestion relatively tame.

I say this as an Itachi fan who feels that all the hate directed towards my favorite character is backlash and a reaction to the plethora of Itachi threads spamming Narutobase and rendering this place more vapid and banal by the second. As Wow Wow Wubbzy said:

I don't really understand the issue? Itachi threads have been in the making since like years. An enforced quota? What does this solve? Nothing. If people want to create those threads they will no matter what we do. Banning the topic or putting an amount limit to them is not a solution. I don't even see a problem here. As long as threads keep with the Global Rules it doesn't matter if they're about Itachi, Sakura, or w/e.

People have been making religious threads since, but the Mods years ago capped them for a definite period after instances of flaming and spam. Itachi threads have crashed NB and run amok, so I repeat again there's precedent to my suggestion. Ask any old mod and they'll tell you of many instances where certain topics were restricted, curtailed or even banned either definitely or indefinitely when problems arose, and only waived the restrictions when the mods deemed it appropriate under unanimous discretion.

My idea would work if I got a couple of sympathetic mods to back me up. Klaus isn't reliable as I suspect he may be an Itachi fan and have some bias, but I think Caliburn and Lawliet, who hate fanboy threads, will be responsive to the idea. Especially Caliburn, who has a history of restricting topics when he feels that they're detrimental

Banning Itachi threads because you can't handle the truth is a fault of yours and no one should be penalized for that.

Not gonna happen. Most fanbases wherever its a character or not will always have what you'd refer as trolling to counter arguments with. Honestly you should just laugh at it and continue to the next thread, but to ban all Itachi threads is harmful as it would decrease activity and considered unfair for Itachi fans. Yes it would, because like i said, others would want to cap other topics as well and are we justifying it by not doing so? It would come down to "temporarily" cap all character threads, and that would decrease activity.
