Just an avatar I made for myself using a render. It's the first time I made an ava from a render. Used a green c4d as the background.

Render used:

C4D used:

CNC appreciated. ^_^

And according to the rule I have to post minimum 2 avas, so here's a random one:

Zoro one looks really good :)
Looks great .
Not bad! ^^

nice looks good. I like you started with render.
Thanks everyone. Played around with 2-3 simple brushes and selected some parts of his face and chest and played with the curves setting. Made a new layer for the dots and sharpened. Used a star brush for the glow on his sword and used a 65px round brush near his hair and a 300 px for making the avy a bit brighter.

His balls are out man

Nice avy's tho
Lool. Thanks

Thanks mate. Would you mind to elaborate on the mistakes?
A combination of C4D and render is really good, I wish I had discovered it earlier. ;_;

1st: is the hair light, which is quite disturbing ,don't you think ? few touches and it can be erased or at least dimmed
2nd: gray dots/sparks or whatever you can call it don't goes well + pixel shape of them makes everything worse

Also,

those parts outstand too much. That means the render was blended quite poorly.

Note: c4ds are great to work with BUT not all anime images can be a good match for c4ds,especially ones with bad quality.
Hope i made everything clear :)

o_O I didn't notice the hair spots. Good observation.
I know. I tried every 1px brush I had. ;_; Which brush do you suggest for it?
Yea, I didn't try to actually blend the render with the avatar. My main focus was on messing with random effects.
Thanks for the CNC.

Hmm it's better to use fractals.Play with adjustment layers unless you see that they fit the image well.If you still want to use brashes i'd suggest you splash brushes but you need some skills before using them right with c4d.And again, tutorials are your best helpers here ^^

Adjustment layers, eh? I see.
I'll download the splash brushes later.
I see, thanks mate.
