Roku's bending is far better than Aang's bending. Learning it faster doesn't equate to it being better. Roku trained for half his life to master all the elements and the things he's pulled off when it comes to using them are far superior to that of what Aang has pulled off. Examples would be Roku making air so cold it could dissipate lava, he could create mountain level cliffs with his earthbending, tsunamis with his waterbending, and could even bend lava due to his firebending being so strong. He even destroyed the entire avatar temple in the fire nation with his firebending. He could also hold all 4 elements simultaneously.if your comparing the age and EXP difference then sure, but remember Aang mastered all that plus learning a new form at a young age. roku was like 50 years old already when he stopped sozin the first time. in the new avatar legend of korra. Aang looked hella beast. and so many more years OF EXP under his belt???? REALLY ROKU???? no I'm still going with Aang. he completed all his training in a year???? and stopped fire load Ozai with enhanced fire bending power?????? AANG FTW!!!!!!![]()
It's very good.ive never watched avatar but it seems cool
first of all ur saying it doesnt matter the fact that aang learned it fast. Are u crazy he learned all in a year and had considerable mastery over it. sorry but thats serious skill in a year he mastered it while roku took a long time to get through water aang learned his opposing element quite fast shows skill. Ozai would have died in the beginning but aang is a Air nomad he doesnt like killing he would have killed him by redirecting the lightning way back in the beginning but guess what he didnt so no he doesnt need avatar state.Roku's bending is far better than Aang's bending. Also Aang needed the avatar state to beat Ozai albeit Ozai with enhanced firebending while Roku stomped Sozin with simple earthbending and airbending. IMO he'd stomp Ozai with enhanced firebending just as easily if he got serious.
It's very good.
You misunderstand what I said. I simply said learning them quicker doesn't equate to being better at them. Roku trained for half his life to learn, master, and become extremely skilled at each element.first of all ur saying it doesnt matter the fact that aang learned it fast. First of all there's no solid evidence to support Aang having metal bending, so there's no reason to bring it up. Redirecting lightning isn't that big of a deal considering rarely anybody could use it back then. Also if u r bringing experienced older aang he is definitely better because he has Toph who would have taught him metal bending, and she already taught him the ways the badger moles did earth bending giving him an advantage there as well and knows how to redirect lightning BIG ADVANTAGE. Experienced aang has the advantage due to his tecahers especially toph and seeing he is naturally gifted and can accomplished major feats as 13 year old kid.
use common sense toph taught a whole school of metal benders do u think she wouldnt teach the Avatar later on I am talking about an experienced aang here. You misunderstand what I said. I simply said learning them quicker doesn't equate to being better at them. Roku trained for half his life to learn, master, and become extremely skilled at each element.

You speak as if Roku didn't have teachers of his own, which were all master benders level.
Your post is based on assumptions with no basis to it. The fact is Roku's bending skills are displayed at a much much higher level than Aang's.
Roku's bending feats:
(Using and holding all 4 elements simultaneously)

Aang isn't on Roku's level when it comes to bending.
And again you haven no solid proof that Aang knows metal bending, so don't bring it into a verse thread.use common sense toph taught a whole school of metal benders do u think she wouldnt teach the Avatar later on I am talking about an experienced aang here.
How did he lack speed when he's a master level airbender. He can even glide via air tornadoes. Again your posts are based on nothing but assumptions. And again there's ZERO evidence Aang knows metal bending, so please stop bringing it up. That's like me saying Roku can utilize lightning without any solid evidence to prove it.there are certain things like speed that Roku lacked and dodging ability of an airbender which we didnt see but obviously its common sense to assume that he has those basic abilities same thing here with aang u really think toph would just keep that away from aang being his master but teach it to only a bunch of other kids really come on. See i dont bring up bloodbeinding because its actually unlikely that katara would teach something so vile to aang she never liked it but metal bending why the hell would toph not teach that.
Lol no it doesn't. Badgermole was simply the first form of earthbending, but that doesn't mean it's the best. Roku's earthbending feats trump Aang's by far. Aang has never been shown raising a mountain level cliff.Roku had teachers there is a whole episode on that not denying that at all but toph is better she created metal bending and learned from badger moles which gives her and aang a advantage in ground based fights.
How's it very useful against Roku when he doesn't even have it? That's what I meant.Iroh created the redirection of lightning tech and its no big deal lol at that aang would have seriously injured and taken down ozai with that tech. Zuko also took out an experienced bender like ozai with that tech its very useful.
I'm not saying he didn't improve, but there's no evidence to say he's on par or above Roku in bending. His feats are far superior to Aang when it comes to bending.See ur making the assumption aang doesnt improve most avatars reach a high state of bending ability in their peak and aang had more than enough ability seen from his 1 and only year to learn 3 bending arts.
Experienced Aang has ZERO feats thus is nothing but an assumption on your part. There's no evidence he's on par or better than Roku in any art of bending. Roku's proven his skill in bending and I've already shown you proof of that.See by feats a younger aang puts a fight but loses but not an experienced aang which is what i am talking about.
There's NO evidence he has metal bending, redirection of lightning is pointless against Roku, and energy bending is pointless as well since he'd have to restrict Roku's movements to do it.He has the advantage in Metal bending(very likely), Redirection of lightning, Energy bending and toph's teaching style which is unique and gives a an advantage on the ground. Aang with exp is better
And again you haven no solid proof that Aang knows metal bending, so don't bring it into a verse thread.

Again your posts is nothing but assumptions. Experienced Aang this, experienced Aang that. Nobody knows how powerful he was. This is a verse thread, not a fantasy thread where you make a ton of assumptions.
Bringproof and feats or leave.
I don't care which one you use, but the fact is this experience Aang you keep speaking about has NO feats.OK b4 anything are u talking about kid aang or experienced aang.
*Sigh* Roku can't use lightning, so the redirection of it is pointless against Roku. What don't you get about that?second redirection of lightning is pointless u kno it worked against the some of the best firebenders and gives an opening to clearly attack the foe so no it does matter.
And again there's ZERO proof to say he has it.Metal bending is a likely powerup to aang but i wont get further into it.
Toph is one of the best earthbenders, but not even she has the feats that match Roku's earthbending, which simply proves that badgermole isn't the best, it's simply the first.badgermole is best source to get earthbending training from, see toph outclassing that many earthbenders at once is due to that simple fact. It allows one to see their opponent's moves very clearly and come up with very good counterattacks something toph and aang do but its useful only on ground.
All master airbenders have decent speed and good dodging skills, so why would Roku be any different? He wouldn't. Him being able to glide via air tornadoes, which by the way not even Aang could do or at least never demonstrated being able to do so should be enough proof that he has pretty decent speed. And the movement of airbenders is a common training exercise considering Korra in the LOK has to learn it as well. When i said roku can't do certain things such as have high speed and dodging skills of an airbender its because there is no proof but using common sense since he is a master airbender.
The point was to see others opinions. If you don't like it then simply don't post in it.Also whats the point of this thread we have to make certain very likely assumptions because we all kno 13 year old kid aang<roku unless u include avatar state which u also neglected later on since roku has the disadvantage as u said.
Roku when he was 28 was a complete master of all the elements, which he showed when using and holding all 4 elements simultaneously. He didn't just have those skills when he was old.Obviously there is no proof people have to make inferences. Because lets be clear using a 50 year old experienced avatar vs feats of a 13 year old kid is pointless.
But there are things like redirection of lightning and toph's way of earthbending that can help aang and give him advantage but its not enough if u r talking about a 13 year old aang.
well against fire benders who can use lightning its useful but roku hasnt shown it doesnt matter. Not in this match but its very useful in general. I just didnt agree with how u said its almost uselessI don't care which one you use, but the fact is this experience Aang you keep speaking about has NO feats.

Aang was a fully realized avatar by the end of the series, so I wanted to see peoples opinions on how he'd matchup with Roku.
Anyway I'm done.
I could NOT HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!!! +repuse common sense toph taught a whole school of metal benders do u think she wouldnt teach the Avatar later on I am talking about an experienced aang here.
