I don't understand the hype, I watched up to about episode 16 and dropped it, like its cool and very dramatic but I don't see why literally everybody loves it, maybe some of you can tell me why you like it so I can get a etter appreciation for it

I'm not saying it's a bad anime but people saying it was best anime of 2013 and all the hype around it I don't understand

It's because of the many mysteries that Isayama builds up that keeps people interested. People want to know how things will end out. It's not like your average Naruto anime where we all know that it will have a happy ending. Who knows, humanity might be wiped out in the end of SnK. Plus the characters are amazing, along with the maneuver gear.

It's a good anime and carries many good features to it, interesting characters, interesting plot, good anime adaptation, and much more. It is however too overhyped (As are many things in this world) and it's popularity is most likely attributed to one reason, it's shonen. Shonen is the most popular genre of anime and manga hands-down so it would be of no surprise if something like this were to occur multiple times in the next few years in anime and manga.

Not everyone likes it, it's simply that allot of people do.

There are also allot of people like you who ''don't understand the hype'', there are actually quite allot here on the base.

Nevertheless, I loved AOT.

The next few episodes are one of the best episodes of the anime, imo. You should continue and watch 4-5 more episodes and then make your mind about the series. Especially the part where the female Titan is introduced, because that's when it gets really interesting. Yes, it is overrated but that doesn't mean it's shit.
