Straight into it. Debate me.
Plot - Right off the bat, what do we see? "DEEEEEP" storyline, "DEEEP" background. Okay, seriously.
>Hur the titans hur
There's a big massive enemy threatening mankind. Oh, boo hoo. Humans are helpless, so we're going to form a help team to rescue the helpless, amirite? Eren's parents died, oh noes, tragic background, oh noes? Cliff hanger in episode one, and pent up emotions for characters that you haven't even fully understood. LOL.
How many times do I have to go over this? I don't see how it's hard to have a competent character lining with a "deep dark scary tragic spooky background", or a show that flows correctly and gets to you emotionally.
Eren "dies" episode 5-6. Oh, noes. That wasn't predictable.
And he becomes a titan shifter. I guess that's totally not predictable. *cough ichigo hollow mask, cough ichigo quincy*
>Titans
I'm sorry, but does it really take that much of a creative writing style to create mindless beings of destructions that have the mindset: Kill, Eat, Kill? No. Can a crew of writers come up with more intelligible enemies than this, and especially not fodder enemies that when killed, will not ever be mentioned again? This isn't even how you do a "start out with war." You want start out with war? The first ****ing season of TTGL, that's how you start out with war. A titan killed = No relevance.
>Characters
Bland, shitty environment. Uninteresting and simply blank. (The dark artstyle doesn't really help, either). If you want to be dark with characters, take note off of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, or if that's too dark, let's go.. code geass? Somewhere along those lines, for a mainstream shounen that is. The characters have such close-ended personalities there's not much to put anything, and it's all cliche and has been done before.
>Judgement
This anime sucks, way too many fodders, trying far too hard, you have to be moronic or new to anime (somewhere along those lines~) to like it, and really a story with a milked-out premise and multiple stolen premises which were already milked-out as well.
I can see how people would find this entertaining though, it's like a cinema; people killing big monsters, people maybe occasionally dying. It's an awful anime, guys.
