any-who, to answer the question:
Why not? I see no problem with that. Religion and politics should "NEVER" mix, which is why there's never peace, because all politicians govern by their own religious beliefs and not for the well being of people.
then again..politicians are all a bunch of dogs -__- screw them all.

Well, since the U.S. government keeps harping on separation of Church and State, there shouldn't be any reason why it would matter. That being said, people vote for a variety of reasons and a good percentage of the U.S. claims to be "Christian." People are also resistant to radical change, so one could only imagine how a publicly announced athiest would be received. Just a note, religion is often used as a platform for some people's moral and ethical decisions so to say that their religion or non-religion has no bearing on their political decisions is a bit naive. I personally don't really care as right now, I wouldn't vote for anyone who runs :shrug: just my opinion btw

Actually Bush was an idiot to be elected. But anyway that's not the point here. Look at Obama he's half Muslim and he's president now and we all know how people stereotype Muslims after what happened in 9/11, but that didn't stop him from getting elected. If that statement was true that people vote for the ones similar to them then why isn't John McCain our president now?

How can you be half Muslim when islam is a religion. Your either in or out my friend and btw Obama is Christian.

President is not allowed , to support its decisions based upon religion he has to be neutral.

So the answer is : I dont care if the President is an Atheist or Theist he cant base hes decisions on Religion or Ignoring Religious persons needs.
