Atheism is Unique

An atheist is different in that he chooses to believe in there being no omnipotent deity behind our existence. Some feel that atheism is the answer because there is no evidence of anything close to resembling a god. Their main ideal is that humans can get along, if not better, without an all powerful god. His mission is to scope out anything that humans might call holy or godly and put it under a microscope to see if it truly is as magical as many believe it is. For this thread I want to talk about atheism and ONLY ATHEISM.DO NOT BRING UP GOD OR ANY RELIGIONS. I want to hear what atheism brings to the table. Why am i doing this? You might br asking, well just as any group I would like to see of what value they truly weigh. Again if your an atheist please do not let your argument be only about how stupid a religion. I want you to show me what atheism is all about without you mentioning any religion or just not at all.

I'm an agnostic seeker, it... Resembles atheism in a way. Basically, in my humble opinion, we can't prove or disprove "God" because "God" is beyond that in a way.
Just wanted to share.

Also, I thought about it a bit... How can you not bring up God and religion when discussing atheism?

I am atheist

My reason for this being I find any forms of religion to be mans primitive reasoning of how the world worked before science came along to well you know showed how most of what we know came to be and the workings of such things.

Basically (any & all) Religion was nice to have around for the time but is no longer necessary for human growth.

I could probably have worded some of this better but I am abit preoccupied watching American Dad.

Yeah I'm with HiddenSound Agnosticism for me is the most suitable position. We will never know if God exists or not, so we cannot say if he exists or not. It is beyond comprehension.

Every Athesit has a different opinion.

Some believe in Science (evolution) and some may believe in aliens.

It's not so much that they 'believe' in Science or Aliens. They find it more believable than a so called "god". I'm a Science sort of Atheist that believes in Evolution.

EDIT: When I was a kid (around 12, atheist at the time) I believed that Aliens engineered/created us

I still kinda think that every now and then but evolution makes sense as well. Who knows..


Maybe the Gods religious people worship were actually myths sprouted from Aliens O_O

The definition of atheism is a lack of belief in any deity, so it's understandable that talking about atheism without talking about deities is a bit difficult.

I haven't really formed an opinion on wether or not aliens have had a hand on the creation on man or not I have taken it under consideration in the past though.

I'm not sure what I am, but I'll post anyways.

I believe that we all are 'Gods'. We all have the power to give and take life. We all have the choice whether or not we'll do so. We all have the power to shape and create the lives that we want and the world that we live in. A lot of people seek guidance and help from a 'divine power' without ever realizing that they themselves have the power to create their own world and shape their lives.

atheism is also not unique in the way they for the most part tend to look down upon others for what they believe or don't believe
