Asuma, if zabuza swings the sword into asumas knife it will be cut in half along with zabuza.
His fire style in mid range is far faster then zabuza dragon/ vortex. it's not even close

The mist jutsu could swing this Zabuzzas way but I would go with Asuma. Depends on terrain too, Water Zabuzza is the the game.

You think so? Zabuza always starts off his fights with Hidden Mist Jutsu and Asuma has no counter for that.
3t Kakashi>Asuma and yet Zabuza managed to trap Kakashi in a water prison with low-mid dif. That says something.

Asuma is a master of wind style, a strong wind style move blows away the mist and allows asuma vision, wind is a element kakashi does not have yet, thats why he did not use that same plan.
Kakashi was baby siting squad 7, if this was part one team asuma zabuza might win. But without team 7 there kakashi dominates as seen when they battled one on one again

No, it would take time for the sword to be cut in half, plus it can rebuild itself with blood, including zabuzas if needed. Asumas fire style is not faster, have u seen giant vortex jutsu? Which can even go long range? Plus asuma can't sense zabuza in the mist. If he blows it away zabuza can easily create more
this one is close.but asuma really doesnt have a counter to zabuza`s mist so he cant see or hear zabuza because of zabuza`s silent killing techniques.zabuza counters asuma`s fire technique with water release and asuma`s wind release blades wouldnt do him any good here because he wouldnt be able to locate where zabuza is....as for asuma`s trump card welcoming approach:thousand armed murder that would be his gratest defense and offense...so the fight would be intense and interesting but i dont think asuma`s thousand armed murder would last long...zabuza wins IMO
EDIT:i havent really seen any strong fuuton from asuma so i cant predict asuma to blow away mist with wind....even if he did,zabuza has water clones and is better at swordsmanship than asuma...i think he would overwhelm him

Yes Asuma is a wind user. But have you ever seen mist on a windy day? The mist would still be there and Zabuza can make the mist thicker and thicker until visibility is zero. He's also a silent killing specialist. Any sound Asuma makes puts him in danger.
