Setting: Kazekage's Mansion
Narrator: In years long past the Fourth Great Shinobi War, when the Five Great Nations separated from their Joint Shinobi Alliance to be their own villages once again, a time of peace was in the land. For generations the villages co-operated and fought off potential threats together. Now a new generation of shinobi, greater than the previous ones, are gathering together for a great rite of passage. The Chunin Exams!
Kazekage: The Chunin Exams are in only a few days, and contestants are already arriving. Kazama, do you have a report on the arriving shinobi?
Kazama: Of course I do, Kazekage-sama. Three of the four Leaf squads are here, one of the two Mist squads have arrived, both of the Stone squads came together, one of the three Cloud squads just arrived, the Grass squad is here, and we're missing the squad from the Sound. Along with the three Sand squads, of course. In all, we're missing fifteen participating genin.
Kazekage: Such a small exam this year...
Kazama: I believe the desert may have driven a few away, esecially those from wetter places such as Amegakure and Kirigakure.
Kazekage: I see... And we have acomadations for all the expected shinobi, including their jonin leaders?
Kazama: Of course, Kazekage-sama. We wouldn't want our guests' stay to be uncomfertable.
Kazekage: Excellent.
The Kazekage strode from the balcany of his mansion and constructed a chair of floating metal particals as he sat down in it. Looking around at his gathered assistants and exam organizers, the Kazekage closed his eyes and smirked.
Kazekage: Three days until the exams... Plenty of time for our missing friends to arrive.
Setting: Konoha Shinobi's Resting Quarters
Yaku: Team Yaku, assemble!
Inotachi: Yes sensei!
Yaku: Where are the others?
As Inotachi shrugs, Yaku punches the wall of their resting quarters, making a loud 'thud' going up to the upper room where his other students were getting settled.
Shikamaro: What do you WANT!?
Yaku: I wanted you and your partner-in-crime to come down here; where is he!?
Chojaka: What...?
Yaku: So, now that we're assembled, I'd like to know if anyone's having second thoughts about the Chunin Exams. Anyone want to turn back?
Shikamaro: If I had any second thoughts, it would've been back in the Leaf far before we ever set out here.
Inotachi: No sir, no second thoughts! Let's crush the exam!!
Chojaka: I don't know...
Shikamaro: Stay in and I'll buy you barbecue pork on me, alright?
Chojaka: I'm ready to go!!
Yaku (to himself): Just like the team's before them, aren't they...?

Ken: Alright, team! Are we ready to conqure the Chunin Exams!?!?
Gesami: Of course, sensei.
Fang: I'm roarin' to go! A-oooooh!
Kim: Let us continue honing our skills, Ken-sensei!
Gesami: What is it with you and training? "Let's train now!" "We haven't trained enough." "This training is too easy." If you want to train, go off on your own; we'll be waiting here.
Kim: But training on my own is no fun, Gesami-san! I need companions to push me further.
Ken: Ha-ha! Kim, you don't need more training; you'll do fine without it!
Kim: But our opponents are no doubt strong, and all I did on the way here to train was walk on my hands the whole way with the extra-heavy weights on my ankles and wrists!
Fang: Only...
Ken: And you beat every here, didn't you Kim?
Kim: I sure did, Ken-sensei!!
Ken: Then go upstairs to your well-deserved rest!!
Kim: Only after one thousand push ups and five hundred sit ups! Yes Ken-sensei!!
As Kim ran up the stairs, still wearing the extra-heavy weights, Ken sighed and looked at the rest of his squad.
Gesami: He's... Energetic.
Ken: That he is, Gesami. Now you two get some rest; it was a long journy here.
Fang: Kyokko and I are staying down here; he's too tired for stairs.
Ken: If you insist.
As Ken and Gesami ascended the staircase, Kyokko began to whimper.
Fang: What is it, boy? Sniff, sniff. Sensei!!
Ken: I knew you just wanted our food! Ha!
Fang: Darn it, boy...

Leia: Is everyone here?
Dorthy: One second, Hyatto is using the washroom.
Leia: Thank you, Dorthy.
Hattori: That kid's still in the washroom? Didn't he enter when we got here?
Leia: I'd thank you to not make fun of your teammate, Hattori.
Hattori: If you insist...
Hyatto: Sorry I'm late, guys!
Hyatto trips over his own feet as he runs into the room, and falls face-first onto the ground in front of his whole team. He quickly get's up and wips dirt off his clothes.
Hyatto: I meant to do that! Haha.
Hattori: Of course you did, knuckle-head.
Hyatto: You wanna go, bug-boy!?
Leia: BOYS!!
A deep-blue aura of chakra surrounds Leia as her anger at her student's arguing shows. Hyatto fearfully takes several steps backwards while Hattori maintains his cool, calm detatchment.
Hattori: There are going to be scarier things than sensei during the exams, you know that, right?
Hyatto: O-of course I know! And I won't back down for a second; not me!!
Dorthy: Oh Hyatto...
Setting: Entrance to the Kazekage's Mansion
Narrator: Gattered at the entrance to the Kazekage's mansion are a variety of Sunagakure shinobi, of all ranks, discussing the exams.
Kazama: This is going to be an interesting Chunin Exam, don't you think Bukka?
Bukka: It does not interest me, Kazama.
Elder 1: But your team of genin are participating; you must care a little about them.
Bukka: I would care if there were something worth caring about. My team is guaranteed to all be promoted, and as such, what they do is of no concern to me.
Elder 2: And you believe this simply because they seem strong? There are plenty of strong shinobi comming, Bukka.
Sabaku: My sensei believes I am on jonin levels...
Elder 1: Bukka, he's your student, correct?
Bukka: If he were anyone's but mine he wouldn't be half as powerful as he is today.
Elder 2: What makes you believe he's on par with jonin-level shinobi? Why, not a single member of this village has ever seen the boy fight or perform a simple jutsu, for that matter!
Bukka: That's how good he is; finish the fight before anyone knows it began, including his opponent. With Subaku on their team, my other students can sit back and wait for the individual matches, keeping their skills hidden from the enemy.
Kazama: Well, if Bukka truely believes this, then the kid has a chance. Let their team perform as they practiced. However, the question is... Are you up to the challenge, Subaku?
Subaku looked up at the Kazekage's advisor with dull, expressionless eyes.
Sabaku: Of course I'm up to it. Weather or not you can call it a challenge, though, is debatable...
Elder 1: I see... Kazama, do you have information on the participants of this years Chunin Exams?
Kazama: Only that of the Sunagakure competators. My other information is not updated, and if you were to include Subaku, even my Sand Shinobi information is not complete.
Kazama handed the elders a folder containing information on the three genin squads participating in the Chunin Exams from Sunagakure.
Kazama: All of our teams are very powerful and are ready for any opponents.
Elder 2: Well, we don't know that for sure, do we?
Elder 1: They do appear powerful...
As the elder hands the folder back over to Kazama, he looks down at Subaku.
Elder 1: I'd still like to know what jutsu you use, boy...
Sabaku: You'll have to wait and see, elder-dono.
