Is it just me, or does anyone else who plays the game find the combat difficult for this game? it's really tough compared to other AC games like the first, second and brotherhood. I haven't played revalation nor AC3 so I can't say for them, I'll be getting them later on. But this is ****ing aggravating sometimes, if I get detected, I'm pretty much dead if they're more then 4/5 guys, if there's like 3, I can manage. Maybe it's cause I'm in the beginning. But honestly, games good, tho. The combat is what I'm having difficulty with. Anyone got some tips? LOL!

i screwed up cause some of the controls are different u should have seen me when i realzied the ship combat was different and u notice the lag when u press counter kill on enemies and they can stop your chain attack when u kill a guy then pull out the pistol like in ac3
In brotherhood the chain killing was good and easy to initiate, on ACIV it's really hard to even chain kill 2 enemies, it's so damn annoying. I know the controls now, but they AI is pretty intelligent and much more realistic compared to other AC games I've played. If you try to run, you get ****in shot lmao. Perhaps if I get more into the game and progress more I can improve, as I start purchasing more versatile and better weapons. Equipments, upgrades etc.

I keep pressing the counter button and "break defense" button when i fight enemies, and keep moving around so that i dont get caught when the grenades are about to explode lol, and run into bushes to evade enemies which works great for me lol. This is how i survived till the last level.
I have played all AC games but this game is way too vast compared to it's predecessors IMO. So many sub-missions and shit. I mainly focus on main missions rather than sub missions upon the completion of which you might unlock some amazing upgrade. And such sub mission are too many and takes too much time to complete all of them damn i get tired of it.
The game is amazing and i enjoy ship fight tho, dem mortars spamming >.> . When the crew members started singing i was like WTF? except that i enjoy ship fighting. Now i'm at the end of last sequence. Hopefully i'll never play this game again because of it's vastness lol.

I don't find it to bad, originally it was difficult but when i got use to the counter it was fine i liked that the counter had a little delay it made it more real for me. try using the smoke grenade when you're attacked in groups or quick fire your pistols if your got all four you should have no difficulty. When im sneaking into a heavily guard area like a warehouse or akin I use the berserk darts to take out the enemy i normally use 1 for every 2-3 enemies i clears out the area. As for sneaking in missions they always add a way to get through undetected you just have to try to find it(I know it can be a right pain).
The combat's really easy imo. If there's a guy with a gun, shoot him first, counter the normal soldiers, break the brutes guard, counter and break guard. The only thing I find actually challenging is taking down Man o' wars (or is it men o' war?)
