Just like Naruto and Hashirama never wanted to fight Sasuke/Madara and wanted nothing more than peace and to help their friend. We see Ashura's reincarnations Hashirama and Naruto, portray the likliness of his spirit, as the compassion and love they have for Sasuke and Madara are deep and parraelled to the love Ashura has for Indra. ( or one could say the love Naruto/Hashirama has for Sasuke/Madara is actually Ashura's spirit rising in them)

Contrary to what people think, I believe Ashura did not want any inference when dealing with Indra, so all the followers he culminated by his side, stayed out of the squabble. Once again this is portrayed through Naruto and Hashirama, as Naruto wanted to be the only one to deal with Sasuke and Hashirama being the only one to deal with Madara.

Indra also loves Ashura, but the hate and jealously he had was manipulated and fostered into something he couldn't control. There are times when Ashura's want for peace, love and reformation gets to him, but sooner or later like the mad dogs disease the hate manifest itself again. As I said, deep down Indra cares for Ashura, as shown through Madara and Sasuke. Madara couldn't let Hashirama kill himself and Sasuke couldn't finish off Naruto at VOTE.

But like all things when dealing with people hard to love (especially the loved ones trying to destroy you, your cohorts and everything you created) tough decisions and resolutions have to be made to protect what you deem worthy and built, as much as it pains you to the core. Ashura won the war against Indra as we know, but he had to make the hard choice to put him down. We see Hashirama and Naruto (through Ashura) gather the resolve to make the tough decision also.

In conclusion, Ashura never wanted to fight Indra, all he wanted was for his brother to be by his side and for them both to create peace.

Ashura was known for peace, so yeah it is pretty obvious.

Edit:

Wait wanted peace, however Ashura believe loved was the way while Indra believed might was the way. Lel the irony.

lol Yeah, I was just explaining the stages & circumstances of his love and resolve and how Hashi/Naruto is paralleled to them through the almost exact degree.

i don't recall a single panel showing Ashura not wanting to fight Indra. Conveniently using panels and pages only that only convey Hashirama and Naruto's refusal to fight their counterpart doesn't translate as Ashura having been the same with Indra. Until such a thing is shown, this thread is more fanfic than fact.

Well Ashura was known to be loving, but if believe someone who preaches loves wants to fight then go ahead.

Ashura fighting a war against his brother doesn't tell me he was that much of a loving individual, especially if he and his descendants decided to beef with Indra and his.

I don't know how anyone can deny Remedy's thread.

One who has deductive thinking and clear comprehension, not to mention going to all the directions where the manga is pointing would understand Ashura was that way. Its not rocket science, you show me scans of Ashura wanting to fight him, I guarantee there is more evidence against that, than for.

Fighting a war his brother initiated.
Ashura was made successor of ninshuu which practically is peace. Just because he was loving doesn't mean he was a pushover.

if he was so much about love, then fighting a whole war against Indra wouldn't be an option. How is that love can be associated with someone fighting a war over whose ideology was more righteous? I'm not saying he had to be a pushover, but neither you nor anyone else can produce a single panel that says he was like that w/o trying to use Hashirama or Naruto's circumstances as an argument.
I don't know how anyone can deny Remedy's thread.
OP is only using other ppl's circumstances and not those from the actual person in question, that's how.

This is just like how people denied Sasuke being Indra's reincarnation.

Yep, those people are the reincarnates of the actual person in question.

EDIT: Sorry for double posting.
