Indra had Hagos powerful chakra and MS possibly Rinnegan. With Rikudou chakra and MS it makes you extremely powerful just look at DMS Kakashi and I'm sure Ashura wasn't actually on Narutos level with RSM.

Anything dealing with Ashura and Indra is speculation but if I had to pick a power Ashura had it would clearly be RSM.

It's not possible for ashura to have had rikudou senjutsu,it is the power of the sage just like the rinnegan,ashura having rikudou senjutsu is based on him having tsb but hamura and kaguya had it and they aren't rikudou senjutsu users as clarified by the 4th databook,this means that tsb must be a common otsutsuki feature or at least common within kaguya family. Ashura having the exact same power as the sage is not possible,if he did indra couldn't have been his equal.

some here are saying he has rikudou senjutsu because he inherited the sage bodily power so he must have rikudou senjutsu,but guess what,indra also inherite the sage spiritual/eye power and did he have rinnegan?NO. So,therefore ashura couldn't have had rikuou senjutsu,although i do agree he had senjutsu but it's most likely he had a type of senjutsu similar to rikudou senjutsu,just as indra had a dojutsu similar to the rinnegan and not the exact same power as the sage.
