As long as Naruto lives, Sasuke will live too

Without Sasuke, there is no Naruto. Keeping the entire Uchiha drama in mind, we can conclude that they're both equally important characters. Both of them are main characters. So naturally, if one is missing => No story.

Soo... if the destined fight between them happens, they will either both die or come out as equals. There can be no other way.

Sasuke is Naruto's drive, therefore the drive of the whole manga. If Naruto takes him down, he betrays everything he stands for, plus like he said (two times), he wouldn't be able to become Hokage.

Remember his conversation with Jiraiya? "If being smarter means what you say it does, I'll remain a fool my entire life!"

Maybe this is going overboard, but if Naruto (or any other person) ends up killing Sasuke, he just might commit suicide shortly after. I mean, his attachment to the guy has been ridiculous throughout the whole manga: crying and having seizures over him... Sasuke is all that keeps him going. So how do you think he would deal with Sasuke's death? He couldn't.

How could he become Hokage knowing that he had failed? And if he gives up that dream of his, Naruto's left with no goals.

Naruto is the guy who would die for his friends - but when it comes to Sasuke, I believe he would burn in hell for all eternity before he lets something bad happen to him. XD

What are your guys' thoughts?

I think Sasuke and Naruto will break the cycle of hatred between the Senju and the Uchiha. Neither of them will die, they will overcome the hatred and become the ones to bring peace to the shinobi world. *_*

Since when did Naruto become an Emo? Sasuke will die, or if he doesn't he'll be still hated by Konoha for the ends of eternity... And other villages would want to kill him as he f'ing wanted to kill the Gokage, and he was associated with akats, that killed all the beloved Jins of them.

This was kinda implied throughout the series, but good effort none the less. I for one have always been a fan of the idea of both of them dying in the final battle against each other. And don't no one give me the whole "the title character can't die" routine. Im sure many people can agree that Naruto (the story) would be FAR more poetic and meaningful if Naruto goes through all this, all these hardships to reach out to Sasuke and dies beside his friend in the end. THAT would be simply beautiful.

I think they both will die, so I agree with you to an extent. However Jiraya failed in his attempts to bring Orochimaru back, that in itself may be the reason why we saw him decline the role of Hokage but he didn't commit suicide because of it, and I don't think Naruto would either. He would simply decline the title of Hokage and be very depressed for a long time. But I don't think we will see this anyways. Either one of them wins and the other survives or they both die imo.

To tell you the truth, I think the whole schpeel of them dying is utter BS to me. So the resolution of ending the cycle of hatred is by both of them dying. And is Kishi suggesting that both dying at a much younger age than Hashirama and Madara who practically lived up to their adulthood a way to create peace? I do not understand how both of them killing themselves is the answer that Hashirama and Madara could never find. But that's up to Kishimoto to decide.

You got it wrong, Naruto wants to save Sasuke from "Darkness". That's what he means about saving his friend.

Your going overboard with "Naruto can't live without Sasuke". The guy did it for 3 years.
Yes, he's been chasing Sasuke, but he promised to bring back Sasuke and that's why he can't let go of Sasuke. He never goes back on his word..

If Sasuke becomes good and then die, then Sasuke would've already been "saved".

Also, they aren't equally important. Yes, Sasuke's been givin a lot of story development, but it's still connected to Naruto. If Sasuke didn't have a story, then how is he going to push Naruto to progress? Just imagine they only shown Naruto and out of the blue Sasuke pops-up to push Naruto. That doesn't make sense.

So just because he has a lot of story development, doesn't mean he shares the title of main character with Naruto. He is one main character, but not The main character(Naruto)

Sasuke is just there to push Naruto further. If they were equally important, the manga wouldn't have been Naruto.

They couldnt find the answer because of they're history. In a way Kishi has already explained this; the Uchiha and the Senju are the descendants of the older and younger sons of the SO6P. The son's bitterness towards each other is the reason for this whole mess, the reason why Madara and Hashirama could never see eye to eye. Because the Uchiha by nature are a emotional group of power hungry people, and the Senju are a group of peaceful, not so power hungry people. Its pretty much the same case with Naruto and Sasuke, the only difference here is that they had a clean slate. They both grew up cut off from they're fate. They grew up, neck in neck with each other but it was in a friendly, healthy way. They can find a common ground with each other because they have a history. Its the reason why Sasuke didn't kill Naruto at the valley of the end, why he hesitated at the Samurai bridge, and why he's so pissed off at Naruto right now. And its why having them both die (not suicide mind you) at the end would be so meaning full. Similar to how Zabuza and Haku's death were meaning full. They are two halves to a whole.

Uzumaki have a longer life span than Senju or Uchiha,so unless Sasuke uses life support like Madara did He can't outlive Naruto.

Naruto won't die. You can't just focus on what happened when Naruto and Sasuke last met and ignore the stuff that happened afterwards.

Naruto found out that his parents gave up their life for him so that he can live. Neji just died to protect him and Hinata is also protecting him with her life.
He also remembered everyone that died or believed in him. If he killed himself or died with Sasuke, that would be a slap in the face of everyone who ever protected or believed in him.

I don't know if people noticed, but since the invasion of pain arc, Naruto has been tested to for Hokageship... Physically and eemotionally.
He's definitely going to become Hokage
