Appearance: Lady Aria is a Sentinel, and thus possesses a number of physical features belonging to aquatic fauna, her most distinct being the tentacles on her head that resemble hair, and the fins extending from behind her jaw, as well as pale blue skin. She also has three eyes on her forehead, above her real eyes and nose respectively, each one with slit pupils. As the matriarch of Sentinel royalty, and the queen of her people, she is garbed in an ornate dress comprised of highly durable metals, with cloth components that flare outwards, resembling large tentacles. She is rarely seen without her trident.
Personality: Aria is a strict ruler whose only obligation is to her people. Above that, alone, is her desire to see Abzu's will fulfilled. These aspects combine to create a harsh, wrathful sovereign who views all others besides the Sentinels with contempt and prejudice, sparing little goodwill to even the innocent and no mercy to enemies in war.
History
Shortly after the emergence of the Sentinels in the Hokubu Ocean, a rudimentary but functional community was quickly formed as they attempted to acclimatise to a brand new world. While the Sentinels built their home around an emergent Void Tree in the depths off the coast of Tobusekai, some set off to explore the wider lands, gathering information on people and civilisation, such as from the Ruins of the Hanguri Freehold. Accumulating vast levels of knowledge, the Sentinels underwent rapid development, taking what they had learned from mankind and appropriating it for their needs. Naturally, a governing system was required to maintain order, and so a basic government was established. Lady Aria was a part of this body and advocated for isolationist policies during her brief membership.
As tensions began to rise and conflict erupt above the surface, the Sentinels began to fear for their safety, having witnessed much destruction in the Tobusekai, despite being located in the depths of the ocean. Lady Aria took advantage of the growing anxiety and fear in the populace to strongarm her opposition, developing a dialogue around nationalist sentiment. This became popular among the people, and she steadily gained more influence in government, eventually dissolving it in favour of a monarchy. One of her first acts was relocating their people, moving them from their current place near the Tobusekai to a distant ocean in the Outer Lands. The environment was far less hospitable to surface dwellers, and the waters far less accessible as a result. Taking advantage of the unique physical features of the earth present in the Outer Lands, Lady Aria was able to make a supercity for the Sentinels; Amaurot, which would become one of the greatest repositories of knowledge, and military powers, in the world.
