I used to be very self aware, until I realized my self awareness led me to be overly critical of myself in situations that didn't merit criticism; I'd do things like second guessing myself, and doubting my own capabilities because of my overt self-awareness. You'd think being aware of your flaws and being able to access yourself in an objective matter would make things like self-improvement, and decision making easier, but I realized long ago that it doesn't matter how aware you are of your problems if you can't fix them.
Nowadays I try to take life one day at a time, and it's honestly improve my quality of life in terms of esteem. Life can be easy if you make it easy.
