I am extremely interested in everything that has to do with Japan. I have taken language courses, a culture course, and even a religion course. I also hope to go to Japan one day, on a scholarship this fall. :D

Not really. I was always more interested in China than Japan.
Then did you vote? I'd appreciate it, to get it as accurate as possible, thanks in advance if you haven that thanks anyway if you have! :D
I already know great deal about Japan's history and culture, but I'd always like to learn more. I started learning Japanese language about a year ago, so I'm at beginner level.
Fellow newb! I studied Japanese in senior high school, for about two years, and now I'm about to at university! Good luck!
Yes I am :) I love the culture and the seasons :) I love it so much, I'm going to Tsukuba University in 2(and a bit) years (Japanese term/semester times are different to Europe :p). I can't wait :D Especially to see the cherry blossoms bloom ^^
O-O lucky!! Hope you get to go there and experience it twofold for me as well!:T_T:
Haha you have a good point :p They do all seem to have to learn english

Ah mah gawd.. I just got back from a Japanese restaurant :lmao: All this talk about the food , I went when I woke up xd

Yeah agreed about the music ^.^

I carried a piece of paper around with prepared phrases and wooed all the Japanese students
That would be nice~

How come this doesn't surprise me now?!xd better have been tasty!xd

Oooh~<3 speak Japanese to me, woe me!<3 (jkjk xd)
I find the history of Japan to be really interesting, as well as other aspects of the culture. Japanese architecure I like as well. I did attempt to learn the language...but it was kind of hard so I kind of gave up. I feel bad about it now though.

It just makes me sad that if I ever go there I would be somewhat restricted in what I could eat as I'm allergic to rice.
It is a bit particular as they were isolated for so long until opening up to the world, old traditions still strong and such!
Their and old Chinese is beautiful I think! As I said, I'd love a traditional Japanese house..
Oh god damn it! Don't worry though! There's still egg noodles! You can eat those, right? Right?! TT-TT

Another potentially lucky one!! Why is it that I regret making this thread somehow, making me so jealous!! Don't worry, I don't hold it against you but towards myself.. **** my life..

The Kanji that is read "su" with the "ki" after it means "like" together.

Yeah i know how there culture works and stuff like that and names of a lot of there food and there food is really good it would just be nice to go there for a few months away from everything in this western side of the world.
That would be nice~
I bet it'd mean a great change of perspective, and if I did that: I'm afraid that going back to the west, I'd only want to go back-_-..

I know the western world has copied a LOT of TVshows originating from Japan, and Japan is thought to be the masters of entertainment. Now about the theatre comedy and live shows....I know as much about it as I have watched in 'The Last Samurai' xD
hahaha xD
Indeed both would be accounted for! :D

So it has, just look at "hole in the wall", "silent library" and "I survived a Japanese game-show." I still somehow always prefer the Japanese versions though:ghehe:
Maybe they are!? Never really heard about that, but they sure know how to make me laugh~

Yes, there's many theatre like comedy routines, like Rakugo, Manzai and the like!
My favourite Manzai team is definitely Downtown.
Thanks for your post!
